Fuel capacity is 20 litres on the MK2. Front calipers are 3 piston each, with the combined rear brake only operating on the middle piston of the front right caliper ( as sat on the bike). Top box can take 2 helmets if you place them right. Just a pity the panniers are wider than the handlebars, makes for more thoughtful filtering though 🤣. Just wished the luggage was all keyed alike, having to have a key for the top box, another for the panniers and the ignition key is a bit annoying. Screen is better if you fit a Palmer Products windscreen bracket, gives an extra 3 height and 3 tilt positions. Although that's not the original screen on yours. Takes the buffeting off and only gives smooth airflow. Mines a MK2 GT, but the previous owner must have kept the Sat Nav 🤔. Mirror extenders give a better view behind, although does give the mirrors a bit of vibration with being further out. I've got Pirelli Angel ST tyres on mine, and they are brilliant for the price. Give really good road holding and confidence. Bar risers are another good purchase, especially considering the handlebars can be rotated slightly forward or back. Look for the punch marks on the handlebars on the clutch side, near to the clamp. The CBF is a great bike, and only needs the slightest of tweaks to make it right for you. Honda did a great job of producing it, although the journalists didn't do it any favours.

I have this mk2 from 2010. Its perfect for work every day and touring included the wife . I had drive in three years now about 40.000km. I buy this one in 2018 with 20.000km. Honda had no good alternative bike . So i think to keep it for a long time. I liked it do drive every day. Only one problem on 50.000km with a broken stator. The dealer fixed now a better one. He told my that the mk2 from 2012 have standard the better stator.

I used to drive on Bridgestone s21 in my cbr f4i - great tires. also i have plan to addapt a f4i steering damper (f4i has 43mm forks , cbf1000- 41mm - but with little rubber it will work.) I love drive with steering damper - even with chineese - motocykle drive with it like welded to ground. - no shake in cornerring , or driving thrue tramp rails in cities etc

I notes that you talk about a lot of equipment as if it's stranded! unfortunately, this bike even the GT comes with little extras ie no satnav no rear hugger nor are the heated grips and so forth, the wobble isn't right id check your tires before you invest in it a steering damper. still a great revue of a great bike. Ps your tires are Bridgestones, there actually not that bad, but check them out anyway.

Recently bought a 2016 cbf1000 GT in black, only 2500 miles on the clock and serviced every 500 miles, and so far I'm extremely impressed, fast enough for an old guy like me and such a smooth engine, looking forward to putting some miles on her once winter out of the way. I do miss my CBF. Especially the 4 Cylinder engine. It was a brilliant bike. Yes it does slightly. It also looks like the XADV on steroids. The CBF1000 is a far better bike than the NT1100. I've done a review on the NT. it's alright but I think honda let themselves down with it

St1300 or this?
@RevZolution
@RevZolution 2 жыл бұрын
I've never ridden an ST1300 but I'd say that would be more of a pure touring machine whereas the CBF1000 is more of an agile everyday bike that can also happily do touring..therefore I'd go for the CBF1000 on that basis. But the ST1300 does look very nice.

I just bought a 2012 cbf. I watched all These cbf 1000 vids, they fail to mention comparitive elements to other bikes. One that shocked me was their weight and lack of nimble manuverability. My test ride was a suprise. Keep that in mind.. they look sweet but feel like a scaled down goldwing.

Considering the extra weight that comes along with 4 cylinder liter bike it strikes me as unacceptably underpowered..."enough power" does not really mean anything to me as the same phrase gets repeated over and over for practically any displacment. I dont get Honda tuning this so low power? Not even like it is a torque monster? Seems like a dog on paper considering other bikes in the range?
@RevZolution
@RevZolution 2 жыл бұрын
It definitely is underpowered compared to all the others in the range. Honda seem to play it safe and don't want to offer heavy power. But for the road. It definitely has enough power as you can't use its full power without smashing speed limits like you do on most bikes. All bikes over 60bhp have enough power. They'll outrun most cars on a 0 to 60 run and get you about very comfortably. Yes more power would be lovely but not necessary.
