What an exciting day to finally pull the LexTek headers off the shelf and install them on the VFR/CBR800 V4 engine. A very unique exhaust design since the V4 engine has 2 cylinders in the front and 2 cylinders in the rear, meeting in the middle underneath the engine. The finishing touch will be the dual carbon fiber LexTek Mufflers.

For the exhaust gaskets, do what they do in the factory! Use a couple small dabs of grease to hold them in place, it works wonders!

Bought a lextek decat exhsust for my mt09 tracer,very good qaulity for the money and better built than many others.

If you'd like to drop off some more weight you can lose the EVAP system as well. Its a simple removal. Remove the big honkin canister down by the oil pan (the one that you commented about the exhaust almost touching) and follow it up to the electric valve. Remove the valve and plug the vaccum line at the four way by the throttle bodies. You will need to run one new vent line from where the tank plugs into the EVAP system straight to the ground, just zip tie it to the overflow/rainwater drain already coming off the tank. Removing it will not generate any codes. I can provide pictures of the parts if you need better details. I removed mine to get better access to the oil filter. Had a hell of a time removing the filter during an oil change while it was in the way. If you still use the standard VFR fairing then yes the left case is covered.

Was gonna suggest this. Smoother throttle (Known VFR problem) and less lower wiring. He's gonna need it with a cat-less header anyways.

Why are you coating these beautiful stainless pipes? If anything, wrap them in nomex to keep heat in pipes and away from frame when you get stuck in traffic.

I love the design of the V4, how it has 2 exhaust ports in the front, and to at the back, I like the way that both sides connect together, if yo don’t have a clue on what I’m saying, just look at the VFR750

Delete that evap canister, its full of gas fumes and maybe some gasoline from previous overfilling. Its like a bomb with that exhaust up against it. You can use a hose with a check valve simply running down from the tank vent.
