I just bought a cbr650ra and think the same thing. Plus as a 6’4” rider I kinda wish I had the extra 10mm of seat height. But I absolutely love the bike.

Same bore, more stroke on the 650r. Both inline fours. If they 650 had milled heads to match the compression ratio of 12.2:1, it would smoke the 600rr for less then you could buy the 600 off the floor for. IMO someone needs to makes milled ported polished heads for this bike ASAP!

I had a 600rr , I think 7 years ago and I had to sell it for some reasons 🥺... And there were some issues of the 600rr I don't really remember it but there was some illegal things or some thing like that, I was the first cbr 600rr owner in pune , really missing my bike 😭 now I have a activa 5g .

Both are good there is no comp. If you are a beginner get 650r otherwise get 600rr because apart from speed there ia maintenance cost gap as well keep in mind fuel costs and everything addup in end. For me 650r is more than enough because in city you won't get above 50 on highway 650r keep up with its name.

RR motor for high Rev high end power race set up 650r have the similar motor and settings only keep the power at mid range like 650f which is for comfort street ride BTW 650r only gain around 80whp on stock

They are damn near the same bike, with a lighter person on the 650R it will smoke the 600, compression is lower on the 650 but CC’s are higher with a little less hp and you put a 125lbs person and a 180-200 on the 600 then the 650r will smoke the 600r every time

i’m 5’11” and 190ish pounds and i have a 2009 cbr600rr. my friends is the same height and weight with a ninja 650. it’s not even close, even worse when comparing top speeds

Right bump the 650r compression ratio to the same 12.2:1 and it’ll make more power and torque than the 600rr. That’s how they bumped the hp from the cbr650f to call it a cbr650r they bumped compression ration from 11.4:1-11.6:1 gained 12hp imagine bumping it to 12.2:1 and it’s got same bore more stroke then the 600rr. This bike can make way more power for less and be comfortable. Set of milled ported polished heads can be made for $1500.

​@@moosestanggang simple spec check will tell you otherwise. 600 has 118 hp and nearly 49 lb/ft of torque, while the 650r has 94 hp and 47lb/ft of torque. so youre wrong there. curb weight is also different: the 600rr is 410lbs while the 650r is 455 lbs. the simple fact that power and weight ratio is better for the 600 all around proves it. top speed is also lower and the overall acceleration is similar (600rr is still slightly faster) until about 60mph

I don't like the 600 headlight, I wish they redesign it and make it like the 650. And I don't like the 650 rear seat, but I did some research on the internet and found 3 different designs, one that looks like Ducati PANIGALE, the 2nd looks exactly like the 600, and the 3rd just basic rear seat cover. So I think I'm gonna get the 650 and get the Ducati design cover.
