This is my daily rider, it just does everything and isn’t too stupidly expensive. The riding position is sporty without being a back and neck killer. Hi Graham, did you ever ride the CB650R? If so, what did you make of the comparison to your CBR650R? What I’m really interested in knowing is if there’s much of a difference when it comes to wind blast. Obviously the CBR should be far less having a screen an all, but maybe the CB isn’t so bad.

It's not the bikes fault, it's me getting old, but that aside, it's a lovely bike to ride and in over 5,000 miles it has performed flawlessly and it is a machine you can trust. There are a few things that perspective buyers could be interested in finding out. First, riding position for at least a couple of riders of different height, second, pillion comfort. Yes, there are videos explaining that motorcycling is mostly a boys’ hobby, but some of us would like to know what happens to whoever has to sit on the passenger seat.
@Englishbikerdan Жыл бұрын
I'm still trying to figure out how to adjust my leg height like Inspector Gadget. Until then I'm the height I am. 😀 With most bikes I borrow, I am not allowed to carry a pillion. There's been a few exceptions, but it's rare.
@superleggenda Жыл бұрын
@@Englishbikerdan you need a taller sidekick. And while riding with a pillion would probably be more accurate, even a static test is better than nothing. I mean, nobody else is doing it. Freddie Dobbs comes close with Monika’s comments, but he doesn’t really provide visuals except of himself climbing precariously onto the passenger seat…

@@Englishbikerdan Well, that would take the same mental adjustment I need when I see a 5.9 guy jumping (I’m being generous here) on a bike. I don’t know, it looks like all motorcycle channels cater for lone riders, when a lot of people enjoy the company of a pillion. Especially those who do NOT own intercoms.
@superleggenda Жыл бұрын
@@no_name4080 tall bikes suck for motorway travel. And most women cannot climb on those comfortably because the passenger seat is too high. Not sure why people delude themselves adventure bikes are good tourers, because they are not. And this is from someone who got their license more than 30 years ago.

The lights on the cbr500r at night without street lights is so bad on corners its insane. Interesting to see the 650 is so similar :/ i threw on some AUX lights and it helped a little. Love the aggressive look but sometimes functionality > form

@Danny Me too #MatteBlack but I'm still enjoying my CB600F for the time being. My daily commute is a little over 80kliks back-and-forth but in the near future I'm pondering a new Honda (this one) due to the more aggressive styling, windscreen (perhaps even a taller one...🙄) & sportiness 👍🏾

9:40 that certainly doesnt look "very good" to me. There's a huge dark patch under the main beam. Not what you want for avoiding debris on the road.

i bought the 2021 and took delivery few months ago. so far i've put around 1,5k km on it and it's a great all purpose sport bike. An Arrow Pro Race makes it a different animal though, now with a complete exhaust it sounds perfect but i must admit that the stock pipe wasn't bad at all. I'm waiting on GB Racing to put out an engine cover set so i can protect those nice bronze-ish carters.

Great review! Thanks for reminding us that this bike is still out there! Saw a few comments in earlier reviews about some uncomfortable vibes through the bars that took the rider into white finger territory on a long-ish trip. Did you experience this during your time with the bike?
@Englishbikerdan3 жыл бұрын
To be honest it's not something I noticed. On my bike which is essentially this without fairings, I do suffer on longer journeys with a numb throttle hand but it doesn't put me off. Thanks!
@Valks-223 жыл бұрын
Can say the same, numb throttle hand past the 90min point - but nothing not solved by shaking it off or a short break. However nothing major or... impactful in terms of vibration. And no issues with knees or arms or legs in general. I put a taller PUIG screen that eliminates nearly all wind even with the mildest tuck.
@ianwarren2 жыл бұрын
I recently did a 10 day tour of Europe to the Austrian Alps (From the UK). Despite around 8 days riding averaging over 4 hours per day I didn’t get a numb hand or anything else bar a calluses verging on blisters on my palm just under the fingers but my son on his Ducati V4S had the same but much worse. I find the vibration on the bike mild even spending hours over 100 MPH on unrestricted Autobahns! There is some but I don’t find it a problem at all. I have on occasion done a 2.5hr ride to my sons house, 2-3 hours riding with him then 2.5 hrs back so 7+ hours in a day. Can’t pretend I wasn’t happy to get off at the end but it’s never crippled me and I’m 57!

It’s definitely worth considering. I’m a new rider, first big bike so not a huge amount to compare with (Sv540 and Triumph Tiger Sport 660) but the CBR650R was an instant joy to ride and way more engaging than the others, easy to ride but very capable and just finished 2,700 miles from the UK to Austrian Alps and back and loved it from top speed on unrestricted Autobahns right down to Alpine hairpins. It’s a quality ride for the money!
@nelocinco3836 Жыл бұрын
I think this is the best value Honda sport bike for any rides other than the CB650R, it can do track too although not as sharp as its supersport 600RR, but the 600 will compromise lower back comfort for daily rides, it's not comfortable except for track day rides. The smaller cc twin cylinders is a bit too lazy for highway but better in the city, so, for a multipurpose one, the 650cc CB & CBR are the best

Maybe I’ll upgrade to a 650 after a year or two when I’m more experienced. The CBR looks like a great upgrade path! Thanks for the review! 👍🏼

I know it’s a sports bike and not a sport touring one, but I always wondered what if you have several stops on longer journeys, would a sport bike be not so uncomfortable (offcourse im not expecting the comfort of a touring or sport touring bike). Got the answer from this video. Cheers mate!

I would actually say it's more of a small sports tourer. It basically replaced the older CB600F. Yeah, if you factor in more stops it actually might be okay! Thanks for watching.
