My theory is when you buy a second hand car you should always alot 10-15% of you total budget in separate account for further repair. And always only buy car which has repairs less than 5-10%. Because there is always some hidden repair you don’t realise or know of. This is my suggestion after 3 second hand Citys and a Brio I bought for my self. I have also bought many more second hand cars for friends. Like ford fiesta, honda accord, skoda superb, hyundai i10, VW polo. For new buys always look for Honda or japanese cars. They are easy to be diagnosed in second hand market and there are very less you can go wrong with.

I bought City Vx CVT 2016 80k kms in feb 2022 at 6.20lacs. I bought it in Nagpur, I was getting cheaper Citys in pune as I work there but I wanted MH31 registration. And this was the only available CVT in second hand market. Automatic was the first priority for me. Hence I was in market searching for the 4th gen for atleast 3 months. Finally I got it. I know the kms were high, but it honda nothing till 2lacs km happens to it. This was my 3rd city. First being a city zx 2006. Then city ivtec 2010. My revew after 25k kms more. It is the best City yet. I drove my frds 5th gen alot for days and kms. Doesn’t feel the city dna. My suggestion to go for 4th gen no matter if its pre facelift or facelift. I also bought a Brio 2017 as my secondary car last year.

@@shivamd9074 km on odometer matter alot in every second car ans especially in cvt. If its more than 75000km make sure to check service history if the Automatic Transmission fluid was replaced around 75000km- 85000km. If not in long run cvt troubles. Also check for steering rack and suspension issues. And lastly check for damage under and around the spare tire if there is any repair or rust. The price seem to be doggy for a good car.
