Glad you enjoyed it Dan. The tyres were a proper let down but it was to be expected in a “road going” spec. K24 coupe is ready for a rip whenever you are, and a DC2 come summer 👍🏻

Nice vid man! Loved it. I think B series is such a good pick for the EF / EG chassis! More period correct and looks the part in the engine bay!

I've got a B18C2 EG hatch arriving on the truck in a few days, ever since I sold my B18 EK I've been feigning for another B Series hatch. After watching this I can't wait to get it prepped for trackdays!

I’ve driven and own a K engine car, owned a H22A8, and driven an F20C. Never managed to get behind the wheel of a B16/18 car yet. It’s only my list! Anyone in Norfolk with anything fun 😂

There is something special about the B and K engines. I havent felt anything alike. High revving engines with close ratio diffs are a recipe for fun when pushing. Absolute nightmare in traffic and on highways, but fun on back roads, track and general foolery.

Perfect engine for any EG imo. The K20a are perfect for the EK's. Again just my opinion. Good save btw. Years of driving Hondas clearly helped in that situation.

Before b series engines went crazy expensive they were always better to fit an ek chasiss( as you didn’t need much extra fabrication) but now I agree with you

its a common problem with the cambox lol, always easy to push the lens back up to its first position whilst attaching it, then forget to pivot it down again. Happens to me every time, 1st session footage always pointing up.

Eg have rather better aerodynamics when just talking about having no grille. Eg’s are lighter, have much better chassis geometry, and a b18c4 has 30hp more or less, less.

​@@trackshun That is my EK, I was clarifying the engine. Factory EGs are lighter, and stock B18C4s do make 30hp or so less. That isn't the case here as neither the engine or chassis is stock.

@@georgejelfs1347 haha nah man i got an f20b cb7 with a full upgraded suspension, 2015 Fg4 that rips in the mountains, f23/f22 turbo eg making 250hp for time attack on the track, and I’m working on a b20v EF hatch.

Is this getting you inspired to get the teggy back on track? There's something nice about a b series engine. I used to have the civic vti aerodeck with the B18c4 engine, a few breathing and exhaust mods and stripped out. That was a blast to drive. Not as fun as my H22 BB4 prelude though. I miss my honda days. One day I'll get back into it. Nothing like a screaming 8k - 9k revving engine that you have to work to go fast(ish) lol.

Great to see an eg with a b18c, so many now getting k swapped. Adore the old b series, so raw, especially the b18c, becoming a rare sight under the bonnet now. I thought it was my car for a sec, i to have a yellow eg, b18c, semi stripped etc. Funnily enough I also have ado8 r tyres, although not for much longer after watching this. Great driving as always, well held!!

It's still performing well even on old tyres. Looks like it don't has a lot of camber too. But as always amazing driving Danny !

It used to run a much stiffer spring/shock and 225 wide A048 all round. It was incredible when it was more track focused but needs must meant it had to see some road miles hence the lack of big rear arb, softer rates and old tyres 😅

@@florian_montuzet As is it has about -3deg front and the same rear, parallel toe all round. With the wider/grippier set up I ran -4.5F and -3.5R, 1mm total toe out rear and parallel up front.

I have the same car except right hand drive and black Si.👍😎🤘🔰. Any Qtr. Mile times? I ran mine one time had a slow start then slowed down at the 1000ft thinking it was the end and then got back on the gas and still got a 14.5 sec. Quarter mile. Yellow is Awesome, and so was the video. 👍

Looks a nice example of a eg this 👌good to see one staying with the b series. What can be done to stop the rear brakes locking I see you always mention this in the dc2/eg would it be better to stay with the 242 rears over the 262

Danny, what are your thoughts on tracking a daily driver. Obviously not absolutely hammering it on a regular basis but I recently lost my dedicated track car but the itch is always there. I’m so tempted to just track the daily so it would be nice to get your thoughts or even advice on it? Cheers

Can you give some insight on how an EG chassis feels vs a regular Integra.. Same suspension geometry, but does the Integra have a more rigid body or other characteristic that helps it handle better, given a similar suspension/tire setup? I'm thinking of swapping the B18C from my Integra into one of these EG hatches, for street use. I've always liked the EG bubble hatch look.

Agree with Danny. I’ve owned a k swap DC2 and EG. The exact parts taken from one to another. Both pretty much the same despite what the die hard fans of each might say.

​@@dannyDC2 Great to know! I was afraid the EG would feel less controlled/sloppy if the body were to flex under suspension load, thanks for the insight. Few people have driven them as much as you while riding the limit, so I'm really glad to hear this. The old Honda's aren't the fastest or the drift-iest, but the feedback through the wheel on the 90s double wishbone models, as well as through gear box, make them a hoot and memorable. Their lightness only helps accentuate these factors. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the DC2.

Traction bar, OEM rear sway bar and proper coilovers on an EG and it becomes almost intuitive in terms of handling.

how come the car hasn't got a rear anti roll bar? wouldn't this give the car understeer characteristics

I just never got round to fitting it. When the car had A048 tyres (225/45/16 all round), stiffer coilovers/spring rates and larger brakes it never really felt like it 'needed' one. The setup you see in the video is aimed towards being a road car. Much softer, narrower tyre etc.

@@woodyr5gt113 they handle amazingly well, they're pretty cheap and less complicated to fix. Imprezas offer a lot but high speed track driving isn't really ideal for 4wd although it's still fun. So again just track then megane cup but if its for anything else and road use then Impreza
