Not bad cars but when I had one I noticed they could do with a 6th gear on the 1.6L. You do not want to be on vtec doing 85-90 on the motorway for mile after mile. Other than the cruising thing, they are good cars. Better than most in this class at most things.

RR PLANB I have a 1.2 Clio and at 80MPH in 5th gear it's sitting at exactly 4000rpm Even 60mph is 3,000RPM definetely not geared for the motorway

@@dominicbritt yh, i managed to get an engine power torque graph and 3.5k rpm is the highest torque point, so it should also be efficient and not stressful for the engine. I also got used to the noise in highway, kinda like it now.

Dashboard panel is from an EP3 (Type R) and since you are revving above the EP2's rev limit (I think the EP2 only goes to 6,2K), I think you have either done a engine swap or you're wrong on the model Civic.. I have the EP2 and I only wish I could rev to 8K :')

This one is pre-facelift, the facelift model has rev limiter to avoid engine damage or something like that

Zuriël Atia You’re right. Mail172 is wrong. The car in this video is an EP2 with an EP3 Type R gauge cluster swap, hence when the redline is at 8000 rpm. The stock engine won’t even go anywhere near that. A weird swap to do honestly.

this is not an ep2 its a type r ep3. you can tell by the dash, ep3 goes up to 8k revs on redline ep2 does 6k and also says type r near fuel gauge.

It's not a Type-R - it's most definitely a Civic EP2, as it's doing 100kph in 10 seconds, and the steering wheel has a black 'H' badge and not a red 'H' like the Type-R one.
