Hey guys and girls, amidst all the excitement of the new FE Civic, people must be wondering what kind of fuel consumption this new model will yield.
In the previous model, there was still the 1.8 litre naturally aspirated engine available, and those that wanted good fuel economy opted for this less powerful engine while those who wanted more power went for the 1.5 liter turbo engine.
Now the all-new Civic 2022 comes in three variants, but all of them are equipped with the 1.5 liter turbo engine, which boasts of 182 PS and 240Nm of torque. How will this new configuration engine perform in terms of fuel economy? Won't the turbocharger consume more petrol?
We took part in a media drive organized by Honda Malaysia recently, which took us to Penang - since I have already checked out the power of the Civic RS on our favorite mountain, I decided to do a fuel consumption run instead.
Generally there are no cuts in the video, and you can see exactly what happens from the start to the finish of this 50 kilometer run, which took about 37 minutes, so even from here you can glean that we were driving the car at normal road speeds, following the local traffic conditions. The only thing we refrained from doing was harsh acceleration - this is exactly how close to 80 percent of our driving population drive their own cars.
The result we got is a direct result of the car, the weather conditions and also the road and traffic conditions. Done on a different road, and on another day, results may differ - and we based it on the speedometer, odometer and consumption meter using the standard instruments supplied with the car.
What you see is what you get.
Thanks for watching, and don't forget, we sell Honda and other brands of cars through our channel, so do contact us at 016 3350609 for the best quote.

I'm the FE owner. The fuel consumption indicator always overstated the by 1.2km/L compare with actual refuel computation. Fuel usage is much higher by 1km/L compare with my ex civic FC TCP 2016, the FC managed to yield average 13.3km/L, but FE only manages yield 12km/L, same routine, same route, same driving behaviour.

Taiping…my hometown 😅 when the engine had been run for let say 5K/km the fuel consumption will be more accurate is it true ? On tyres I’ve using Michelins PS4 since 2017 it’s grip to the indicator but more than that it’s stated to chips on the outside edge, agreed with YS don’t chipo on tyres
@YSKhongDriving
@YSKhongDriving 2 жыл бұрын
The longer the distance, the more accurate it is. Too short a distance will distort the numbers. For trsting, a short distance will be able to tell you the potential, but you need at least anout 10 km; however, real world numbers takes into consideration uphills, downhills, traffic, driving habits, etc. Real wotld numbers will vary, but is a better indicator of the daily use fc. That is why we show you the actual conditions we encounter on the road. Yes, the PS4 is a good tyre. They have the PS5 now, but I have yet to test them. And yes, always buy the most expensive ones you can afford. Be careful of semi slicks, though. They are expensive but are hopeless in heavy rain, but excellent in the dry.

@@4kkualalumpuraviation924 for me i think in terms of technology, toyota offers more than honda in every department...for example, the wireless charger tray is standard and trusted, the 360 view meaning that it has 4 surround camera and sensor, the engine and chassis was design with craftsman precision for best nvh in class above, the only lacking was only engine power capacity, other than that i think civic is too far from a high tech car...ie. bad apple carplay connection lagging which best turn off, haywire auto cruise system that will fail with irritating pop up every time other hondas are next to u, the engine though powerful has immature design flaw which could make ur service routine more demanding~ with all that said, i still pick the civic over altis just because my soul is already there, infatuations with the look n love is blind right~ so my advice is, u better not fall in love then making regretful choice...test drive both several time until ur heart hit u right!

I explained in the video why the cruise control does not really promote fuel economy.
@avave88
@avave88 2 жыл бұрын
Yes and no depend on condition you are driving. If you are able to concentrate on pressing and lifting your gas pedal accross the time you are driving then cruise control will be less efficient in comparison. For me cruise control can be good in fuel consumption during long drive where the system will totally lift off the gas during going down the hill or in any descending road. If I am pedaling myself, I will tend to forgot to lift my gas pedal in tat situation hence increase fuel consumption. But off it during uphill or else, very terrible concumption. 😂

Fuel consumption is always a subject of interest, not necessarily related to affordability. If two cars cost the same, and have similar power, then people would gravitate towards the one qith better fuel consumption. Of course there are exceptions. Right now, if a car can run on RON95, it is a bo us.

Your mindset is flawed. Doesn't mean the more expensive the car, customers don't deserve to get fuel efficient cars. Note, VW Passat consumes same amount of fuel as Axia.
