Honda Civic RS 2022 FE / The Ultimate Test / Genting Hill Climb / 182 PS, 240 Nm / YS Khong Driving

Finally, the long wait is over - we managed to get a Honda Civic RS to do the ultimate test - on our favorite hill climb road, Genting Highlands.
A longer wheelbase, a wide stance, 18-inch wheels, Michelin PS4 treads, a SPORT mode, and Sports type paddle shifters - will this combination work well?
This time, of course we climbed all the way to the top, and the video is unedited from the bottom to the top, so you can see first hand everything that happened during this adventure.
The suspension is stock, Macpherson struts in the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear - it worked very well, and the extended 2735mm wheelbase seems to have a positive effect on the handling.
What is important is that the overall package works well, and the result is a car that is relatively easy to handle.

dont forget the PS4 contributes a lot to give that neutral non understeer handling, with that tyre even last gen altis handles quite well. also while people complain about that cvt, it actually delivers if you asked for it with minimum drama and i believe is the right transmission choice for all who dont race and/or heavy tune their car

Not really dramatic, until PS4 + rigid collar. If you need more, add eibach lowering spring and or ultra racing brace.

The most awaited review.Just ordered V spec.Compared to all 3 variants I feel V spec is the best value,it is the only one with full leather.I dont like the half leather on the RS seen a few catches dirt easy.If money no issue of cause can go for RS.For me V best value.

If you don't drive to the limit, you probably wouldn't know the difference. If you can, then change to 18 inch, and fit Michelin PS4, kautim.

@@sengweiti6489 You can still fit the Michelin PS4 tyre on it with your 17". If i'm not mistaken, the OEM they gave would be the Continental MC5, which (for me personally) wouldn't prefer too much. :P Hope you enjoy your new car bro!

@Seng Wei Ti supposingly from what I know is they fine tuned your EPS according to the 17" size. So if retrofit a 18" to it you might not get the optimal ride and handling as for tuned for the 18". However, you may still replace your original 17" tyre with the PS4. The size for your 17" would be 215/50R17 (if I'm not mistaken). So you may just replace PS4 with the same size just like I did. ;) Hope it clarifies for you. ^^

@@TyroneSong Good choices. For poor Msian roads, Arteon, Camry and Civic are very suitable cars to handle the rotten roads and bumps, whatever you call. All these cars are very pliant and plush (not so sure of Civic). Go for any of them.

The cvt sound is not apparent when driving normally, and even on the mountain, but the mic seems to pick it up. The human ear is not as sensitive.

Honda brakes mmg very good. Tested Civic FC and Accord last year. Accord when I applied some brake, it's quite grabby like Mercedes. Hard brake mmg makan. Honda definitely has its flaws but in terms of braking performance, I feel it's excellent.

Im a civic FE (E) owner. To be honest, im ok with the lack of this and tht for this variant because im paying rm20k less (rm126k) for the E as opposed to the RS. Buttt its awesome that this spec has the honda sensing too. In term of appearance, it's hard to differentiate between an E, V or RS, but u can spot them based on the rims. Frankly speaking, dont buy E if u have kids because the fabric is really cheap. I changed to PU leather after a month of using the car because i was an owner of the X70 (before changing to the civic), so i feel kinda "poor" when im inside a cabin of fabric seat 🤣🤣. Overall, this civic is hands down awesome n im happy to have purchased it.

Probably a stupid question, but need to know as I am in the middle of getting this RS or Mazda CX-5 2.5 Turbo( I want RS, wife wants Cx5 due to height ease of climbing in and out) forget the class difference. Power and handling which is better?

The Civic is probably mor fun, but the CX5 Turbo is a very nice family vehicle. My advice to you is buy the CX5. Then you get to sleep on the bed. Otherwise your dog will have to make space for you. Happy wife, happy life.

Now this is a review la ok! i was concerned about the CVT mated to the 1.5l turbo but seems ok. Imagine this with a 6 speed manual. The car does not do the man justice. he needs the type r and a manual to do the genting run.
