I know this is a dumb question but do you still have to open the cap to the brake revisor when pressing the calipers ? don’t know if it’s different to these newer cars.
@JrZCarZ6 ай бұрын
I do that just so I can better monitor the reservoir and make sure when compressing the caliper that the fluid going back in isn't going to overflow.

Watching because I've never done this on a car with eletric parking brake and I'm doing my brakes tomorrow, great my first time is my car.

Hey thanks for the video how much did you torque the two 17mm bolts on the bracket?
@JrZCarZАй бұрын
@@imdarwinsosa1879 I torqued them to 110ft/lbs I believe

quick question ,do i need the parking breaks ON? before doing all this? thanks
@JrZCarZ2 ай бұрын
When doing the rear brakes, you can't have the parking brake on and replace everything so you will have to have the wheels chocked in the front to keep the car from moving.

How did you get the connector unplugged from the e brake, for the life of me I can't figure it out.
@JrZCarZ5 ай бұрын
It took a little doing but I got a small flat head screw driver in there to push on the release clip

So weirdly enough I think I did it right but not your way. I bought a compression set online. I had to line up two notches with the two notches on the caliper and twisted it to compress it. So sounds like I did the same as you just from the other end?

I swapped out my breaks but didn’t do the electrical break stuff and now I’m getting all these errors on my dash. How do I fix this?
@carflexee2 күн бұрын
At this point, you probably should take it to a mechanic, buddy

An easier way to get that screw on the rotor off is to buy a hand impact driver and hammer . Comes right out without stripping or you needing to heat anything up

Yep, I bought one a couple months ago to do the brakes on my Odyssey. Works great 👍

Quick question, do I need to get a caliper compression kit, so it rotates the caliper as it goes back in? I see you did it with a c-clamp, but I don't believe it is recommended to do it that way. I believe a caliper compression kit is needed to rotate the caliper as it compresses... Please let me know if I am wrong or right. Thanks
@JrZCarZ2 ай бұрын
@@bmark0610 you can do it either way, I've done it so many times this way and haven't had any issues but if you aren't comfortable doing it like that, you can use the caliper compression kit too
