Very nice car and colour. I have a bronze fn2 but yours is def the best paintwork! Many more powerful motors but 0-60 in 6.4 secs in not to be sniffed at and love cornering them! I've had a miltek exhaust, same skunk 2 gear nob, wind deflectors, led complete lights upgrade and a brembo 4 pot brake kit fitted.

Nice review mate, informative and well presented for something that didn't come out of a car mag/channel. I've had my FN2 for a few years now and only just started to modify it. It's been my daily (also own an AP1 S2K), and although I've thought about trading in, the high revving nature of the motor and rewarding drive have kept the smiles going. It doesn't keep pace with the current crop of "hot" hatches, but it's quick enough to have fun in and sublime when you hit a series of corners. I think the style/design is still quite fresh & unique as well - it's definitely aged well! Btw your mate from Honda is right about the latest 1.5 Turbo Civic's being quicker than you'd expect, but as I've mentioned in another post, a well driven FN2 should still see one off over the 1/4 mile (just). At worst, they're even in a straight line...but I doubt the latest Civic Sport handles quite as well, given its more compromised focus. They do have the FK8R for the real fun stuff afterall. ;)

Loved my FN2, one thing I couldn’t work out was the lean it had under hard cornering. Considering it was bone shaking over the bumps, it leaned a bit more than you’d expect. Deffo needed an LSD, very easy to spin up the inside tyre.

That red dot light at speedometer is NOT a gear shifting light. It tells you have the v-tec on. And that's what you want to see when your revving or speeding real fast and want ALL the power motor has. Those gear change lights are those 6 colored leds. 6 on, and you change a gear. But that one single red VTEC light, please dont change gear when it lighta up, or you'll miss all the fun what this car is all about. This is a 100.00% perfect sport Hatchback. I also own one Championship one. 🙂

@@benlee2765 It doesn't get as many extra's as the Type R GT. The GT gets Climate control, cruise control ,front fogs, an AC cooled glove box and auto wipers ( I swear the wipers worked better on my FN2 than my current 2018 Civic Sport Plus).... I think on earlier models only the GT had auto folding mirrors as well. Also worth nothing that only the Championship White (until 2010 which is when then they all got it) has the limited slip differential. Mine also had the Sat Nav option. Yes but the basic sport model is Turbo'd. So its going to be alot less reliable than the fully aspirated engine that's in that FN2. Turbo'd cars get put under more pressure, for such small engines to have that much power put through them. Most cheaper smaller hothatches have issues because of this - Vauxhall Corsa VXR, Ford Fiesta ST's etc

I've seen testers in USA running 0-60mph times in the high 6's to low 7's and 1/4 mile times ranging from 15.2 - 15.5's. So they're not quicker than an FN2 per se, but can definitely give us a scare if we're caught napping lol. I'd expect an FN2 to reel them in and pass as speeds climb though. Even if the newer 1.5 T's were a lot quicker in a straight line, I'd still prefer the FN2. Let's face it, nobody got this car for the drag strip. The bendy bits are where it's at!

Richard Crump in terms of power gains I think these would be very minimal if any at all without mapping the car. I bought the induction kit really for the extra noise it gives, sounds standard with no extra noise until you hit the vtec. I'll do a video of the noise at the weekend. I didn't want an exhaust as I was worried about constant drone on motorways.

Not driven or been in an EP3 so can't compare. It is firm, unnecessarily so. On track it was brilliant but normal road use you do feel every imperfection in the surface.
