I am 60 now I was born on 2 wheels, road raced, was a motor cop for 20 years and have owned 60 bikes, everything from a dresser to a 2 stroke 125, 2 months ago I picked up this little gem and I have never had more fun on 2 wheels than the 500 scrambler, btw have had mine all over the woods

You are very welcome🙂 Do you live in Hanover itself or elsewhere in the state? I have not been to Germany myself although I've got a few friends that have, they all say it a very lovely country. I'm filming another trip out tomorrow weather permitting ..Thanks for watching👍👍, David.

Hello David, maybe you manage to follow a blue van soon 🛻 🏍️ I live in the small town of Visbek. Flat area, no hills, agriculturally shaped and good for biking. The nearest major cities are Oldenburg and Bremen. Since Last Sunday I saw more of Englands beautiful scenery than in my whole life before, on the basis of your simple and clear videos. Andy

Great video, i have a Honda adv 350 on order(4 months) due sept hopefully!, the dealer has offered me a test ride on a cl500 with a quick delivery time. You might have me tempted me.

Another lovely video and improved sound quality. I've suddenly got the urge to take my green CL to Bewdley from Buckinghamshire and grab a chip buttie

Thanks Farhan, what a great choice of bike you made😀!... yes the sound on Pt1 was a simple mistake to rectify, glad it's improved. A chip butty would be a waste though ,you must go for the full Fish and Chips ...they are superb, regularly voted in the top50 F/C shops in the UK... thanks for watching👍

Great roads, have to agree with service intervals, I was looking at one of those other brands, with my average annual mileage I would be needing 2 services a year rather than the 1 with the CL, I got a 2hr test ride on the Rebel, then saw the CL and tried that - I got the CL the riding position and comfort were better for me, as we are all different make sense to test a bike rather than rely on reviews.

Thanks. Yes service intervals are often forgotten about when people choose a bike . It's a bit of a shock when you learn that some budget brands need a valve check after 300 miles!! 🤨 and then far more regularly for the rest of their life. OK for some who love to look after their own bikes but for many it makes the initial "bargain price" look a bit less of a bargain. Thanks for watching👍

I absolutely love some other brands you may or may not be referring to but as you say, the servicing intervals make them more expensive than the purchase price suggests. That’s before we even get onto the inconvenience. Fine if you do under 3000 miles a year but otherwise they are a luxury. 😊

Hi TAYM . Yes when considering a commuter bike specifically as I was in this video it has to be an important factor, and is an issue with many Chinese engined bikes too. I completely agree though there is something special about the RE's, in fact I might even be buying one soon ..watch this space! Thank's for watching 👍 PS I've changed my "handle" , just found out how!!

My old CB500R rode over 100.000 km and I never checked the valves in 24 years. It was never a concern at all. The engine was working flawlessly, only had the cam chain tensioner changed and a gasket. Absolutely nothing else. And it was not a mellow engine as this new one is. Had enough punch to keep up with more powerful engines. For a city bike (CB) the most important thing is how nimble it is. Many disagree with me, my T7 was a horrible bike for the city. Tall, heavy... That CL has a tall(ish) seat. I would prefer a lower seat. Bar risers is probably not a bad idea either, but that may fall in the personal preference realm.

Yes the standard No2 setting on the rear pre-load is perfect for me ( 11 stone) As I said in the video it soaks up the bumps extremely well...Thanks for watching👍

Haha a trip through my home town and although I recommend it please don't all come at once the traffic would be a nightmare lol I agree about Catchems End although Merchants in the Town is not too bad either. No doubt the CL will be just as reliable as the CB500F and the CB500X and the Rebel 500 as they have racked up plenty of miles with no real known issues. I had the CB500x and it was a marvellous little bike and very hard to fault but for my needs (touring) I found it was just revving too hard at sustained higher speeds but it was a cracking engine for bimbling about on back roads.

Thanks Mike, Bewdley is a bit of a nightmare for traffic isn't it, Catchems End is def No1 in my book! I agree about the 500 engine, it's why it makes so much sense in a bike like the CL especially with the airbox and gearing mods Honda have done👍.. Thank's for watching , more vids on the way👍

Honda needs to make a CL 1100. The Rebel is kind of dumb looking and not comfy for tall riders.
