This is beautiful! Once I found out that the tech was made to do coils to replace dizzy's on B series I always thought about doin it on my B18C swapped hatch. In the past i had so many dizzy issues especially after I installed MSD with external coil which I removed and regret ever doing. Went back to OEM dizzy setup on my chipped P28

@ajeshkamartin318 MSD was MAINLY designed for forced induction applications. The MSD destroyed the dizzy. Specifically, the ignitor. My suggestion is to not do an MSD UNLESS you have a forced induction setup

I have a P28 OBD1 ECU on my B20 block B16 (vtec) head setup and I’m considering buying this kit. I have a few questions. 1.) The only thing that doesn’t come with this kit is the blank distributor cap and the mounting plate for the coil packs correct? 2.) If I have to adjust the base distributor timing, how would I connect a timing light to the coils? Or would I have to set timing permanently before installing the kit? 3.) You mention that the only part of the distributor that is still being used in the cylinder position sensor. Recently my autozone duralast distributor broke up for a split second during acceleration and threw a Code 9 (position sensor). I’m not sure if the sensor was the culprit or if was the ignition parts inside the distributor, but if I have to replace the distributor because my cylinder position sensor fails, would it be difficult to do with this kit installed? Thank you in advanced :)

Usdm p28 ecus do not have a knock board. Regardless, our latest revision retains the knock board for complete factory ecu use.

Yes this is correct. Sensors at the lower housing still need to be synced to the engine just as you normally would.

Due to still needing some sensors inside the distributor you can not delete it completely, you can install a low profile cap instead.

It will work with p30 ecu no problem. Please note most p30 ecus come with a knock board, this is removed to install the COP and usually disabled within your tuning parameters/ settings.

daesyoung the only way to get rid of the distributor is with. $1400 ecu and $600 t1 cam trigger or similar setups in that price range. We are here to offer the same gains for a fraction of the cost. This setup does not control fuel at all, they already have chipped ecu with several tuning platforms to take care of that.

Ryanem1 Yes, just like any other car using a coil pack system you will want to run resistor plugs to help with electrical noise that would cause issues. On the vast majority of late model cars you want to run a resistor plug regardless.

Eldo El you can remove your ignitor and icm if you like do install a billet cap but removing anything is not necessary. You will need to retain the cyp (cam position) sensor.

dantoy dantoy D17 trimmed coils will go under the spark plug cover. K20 coils can be used with a coil mounting plate. So technically both.
