Good video !!! But man it hurt seeing those dry plates :/ soak them for a few hours before hand
@brian.d.mobley
@brian.d.mobley 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Matt! Youre right. I wiped them with a thin coat of oil, but soaking would have been better. After I finished the assembly, I filled the gearbox with oil and rotated the crank several times over the following few days to get that oil spread around. It all ended up working great, thankfully.

What color Cerakote was used on the clutch cover it looks like the bronze but a little darker was kinda curious cause I have been wanting to do mine and wanted to do a different color than the standard bronze and I’m really digging the color of yours.

Its Burnt Bronze. I did a video on Cerakoting that cover too if you are interested. Its in the channel library.

how you get it all so clean

Haha! Back then, lots of brake cleaner and scrubbing. Now, I strongly recommend vapor blasting. I use Houston Vapor Blasting and the do amazing things. Fast too.

Hey Brian have a 2001 cr 125 and when i have all the shift components off except for the shift drum and the shifter bolt and I have a socket and ratchet on the shifter bolt I can shift thru all of the gears. But when its all together I cant shift thru any when i try to shift up its like there isnt a gear there but when i shift down it moves a 1/4 inch and stops. So i tore it apart and found out the shifter drums springs didnt have a plunger that sits on the pawls on either of the 2 springs and i was wondering what your opinion was on it do you think that is the reason for it not shifting when all together. please reply i'm worried its my trans thanks!!
@brian.d.mobley
@brian.d.mobley Жыл бұрын
HI DropEm. I had to read this a few times, but I believe what you are expressing is the 2 plungers that encapsulate the pawl springs are missing. If this is the case, then 100% the transmission will not shift correctly in their absence.

where can i get a manual and service manual for 1991 cr125r

That’s an old manual. I don’t know. But I’d try looking up Facebook groups for that bike and register on Thumpertalk and pose the question in one of their forums.

My 5th gear is like neutral any tips?
@brian.d.mobley

Usually, it’s a bent shift fork. But stuff like that can make you crazy. Broken tooth, pawls issue.... it can be a few things.

Does anyone know where I can find the electronic power valves for the 2004 cr125? My engine does not have the power valves in it for some reason
@brian.d.mobley
@brian.d.mobley 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kaleb. Sorry, I didnt see this comment. The only hope you have is eBay. That entire system (cables, valves, CDI) are all unavailable commercially. I do have a rear cable if you ever find the rest of the stuff.

@@kaleb71948 Im a little shocked to read that 250 cables worked. From my understanding, they are not the same length as those on the 125.

Is it just me or did the power valve assembly just get completely forgot about😂? Good video tho
@brian.d.mobley
@brian.d.mobley 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jotham. This engine is a shifter kart motor and did not have a power valve. Also, this is a botttom end assembly video so it’s not really about the top end components. That said, I did an extensive video on the top end and power valve in this video. Hope it helps you!!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3quloCfq5mCaa8

@@brian.d.mobley I appreciate it! That makes sense now. But my bad, I was meaning the power valve governor gear on the bottom end that connects to the crankshaft primary gear. Finding it difficult to find a video on how to set that gear. But I love the effort you put into your videos they’re very informative, especially that video on the top end

@@jothamkeller7227 Thank you. This was one of my first videos and it wasn’t great. Content is correct, but it’s too long! I may be doing an entirely new video on the 125 soon. A client wants me to build one for him and I’ll film the process on that motor if he hires me.
