Honda CR80 Shifter Kart| First Drive| NorCAL

I spent the last four months building a 1999 Trackmagic Dragon with a Honda CR80 two stroke engine. This is my first attempt at driving it, so forgive me for being under experienced. Either way I had a blast building it and even more driving it. I'm hoping to get some more practice in before the November 2022 race.

Awesome video, I just picked one of these up yesterday with a CR80 engine and butterfly shifter(s). its been sitting a couple years so it will need new fuel lines and unfortunately the gas tank is cracked beyond repair. I'm hoping I can source one soon and have it looking as sharp as yours and running equally strong!

Whats jwts are you running and what is the fule screw set at

Sorry for the delay. Pilot jet is 37.5, main jet was 185. The air fuel mixture screw was out 1-1/4 turn.

I don’t have this Track Magic Dragon anymore. I’m currently Driving a 2008 GP. Yes I’m still driving and have our first race of the season later this month. I will upload new videos to cover this racing season.

Just bought a cr80 motor to try to slap onto a minibike frame, got any tips??

To be honest I’m not sure how to mount a CR80 to a mini bike frame. I would imagine it would take some fabrication to get it done, but if there is a will there is a way. What fuel pump will you be using?

@@earlyapex7492 i wasnt thinking of not using a fuel pump because of gravity compared to a go kart. Gas Tank would be above motor flowing in, if needed though would just use a small mikuni fuel pump if needed. My questions are what do i need for this motor to run like bare necessities, ecm and all that?

@@Turbski1 if the motor did not come with a CDI I would recommend a Honda one fastech-racing.com/honda-cr80-cr85-cdi.html. Otherwise there are ones on eBay for cheap that may work. You’ll need an exhaust, chain, silencer, two stroke oil and gas ( I use Sunoco 110 octane). If you bought the motor from someone you don’t know/trust. I recommend going through the motor first. Especially check the piston, reed valves, and clean the carburetor.
