Noraly from Itchy Boots is riding this bike from South America to Alaska. She is currently in Mexico, about to enter Calif. She says tires (rubber not wheels) can change the seat height by 5 cm. Her only problem is getting parts in Latin America for the 300.

@@Jack-ne8vm Yes I think that is correct. I left her a comment about this video. Seems a lot of good info. If you notice in her vids she seems to struggle getting her leg up and over the seat. Maybe some of these mods could make a difference. The smaller tubeless tires was also very interesting. The way the bike has been performing for her I see her riding it for a few years, she beats it up pretty bad and it keeps ticking.

I rode street bikes and dirt bikes most of my life until I got married and had children. I turned in my motorcycle card for the family (still have my license.) My favorite was my Honda XR650, I rode everywhere, mud, snow, highway 10. This video makes me want to go out and get an enduro. I’m 61, children are grown, why not?

I am feeling the same way at 53 . Agreed on the 650r but I think I would switch to a ktm instead I believe they have better options. But would need a Saddle upgrade as they believe their seats should be made out of granite From the factory.

@doobielawson702 2 жыл бұрын
@@jcheck6 no regrets at all. I like the 300 much more. The tranny and clutch are much better. I am happy with the non-rally version as I like to keep the bike feeling as light and nimble as possible. I don't moto camp. Most of the time we trailer to an area and go from there. I think if you liked the 250 you will like the 300 more. I did get the ABS version. I haven't turned it off even when riding offroad. The rear end never tries to pass me up, especially on steep declines. I have loved the bike so far.

A few years ago on a MC ride from Ohio to California, I rode (in late summer) across the northern border states and south down through Montana and Wyoming. Stayed in Red Lodge Montana one night. The next morning the ride over the Continental Divide was just unbelievable. The Divide still had huge “boulders” of ice on it. I’m taking that route again this year -I can’t wait to see all its beauty again.

I may never visit it physically but being able to see what the town looks like through the lens of Google Maps is quiet the treat. It is as reliable as a hammer, she changes tires, filters, and oil and hits the starter and goes. When it tips over she can pick it up, pry it out of the mud, it goes over mountains and through the rivers. A very under-rated bike. Great big bikes are for coffee shops and bragging, not off road

Awesome bikes. I have been trying to find one for over a year. Also, you're heading to my part of the country. St Regis to Flathead to Glacier then back south through Lincoln, Garnet, Philipsburg, Skalkaho, Hamilton, Wisdom, and Dillon is a great loop.

Thanks for the tip on Avenza map apps, we do Jeep trail rides in the southwest and these maps sound like they will be very useful.

Nice ride! Super jelly! I usually try to do a multi state tour with friends thru the west States at least once a year on ADVs (1200s). Thats a hell of a ride on 300s! 👍👍 to ya!
