That’s my home country and I’ve done those roads many times, only once on a motorcycle and that was 35 years ago. I recognized ‘Wallace immediately. Have a great fun trip. Wish I was there.

Noraly from Itchy Boots is riding this bike from South America to Alaska. She is currently in Mexico, about to enter Calif. She says tires (rubber not wheels) can change the seat height by 5 cm. Her only problem is getting parts in Latin America for the 300.

Juan, have you watched any of Itchy Boots YT channel. She is riding a CRF300 from South America to Alaska. She rides all over the world. Noraly speaks highly of that bike.

@@Jack-ne8vm Yes I think that is correct. I left her a comment about this video. Seems a lot of good info. If you notice in her vids she seems to struggle getting her leg up and over the seat. Maybe some of these mods could make a difference. The smaller tubeless tires was also very interesting. The way the bike has been performing for her I see her riding it for a few years, she beats it up pretty bad and it keeps ticking.

I rode street bikes and dirt bikes most of my life until I got married and had children. I turned in my motorcycle card for the family (still have my license.) My favorite was my Honda XR650, I rode everywhere, mud, snow, highway 10. This video makes me want to go out and get an enduro. I’m 61, children are grown, why not?

I am feeling the same way at 53 . Agreed on the 650r but I think I would switch to a ktm instead I believe they have better options. But would need a Saddle upgrade as they believe their seats should be made out of granite From the factory.

I'm 48, I ride mostly offroad on a 300L. One of my riding buddy's is 72 or 73, he loves his WR250R. Those are great bikes if you're tall enough.

@@jcheck6 no regrets at all. I like the 300 much more. The tranny and clutch are much better. I am happy with the non-rally version as I like to keep the bike feeling as light and nimble as possible. I don't moto camp. Most of the time we trailer to an area and go from there. I think if you liked the 250 you will like the 300 more. I did get the ABS version. I haven't turned it off even when riding offroad. The rear end never tries to pass me up, especially on steep declines. I have loved the bike so far.

A few years ago on a MC ride from Ohio to California, I rode (in late summer) across the northern border states and south down through Montana and Wyoming. Stayed in Red Lodge Montana one night. The next morning the ride over the Continental Divide was just unbelievable. The Divide still had huge “boulders” of ice on it. I’m taking that route again this year -I can’t wait to see all its beauty again.

Spent 4.5 months last year doing 12,500 mile on a 2014 CRF 250 doing the western half of the U.S. Good to see you back on the trail and enjoy seeing the modes. The 300 is definitly a nice improvement over the 250, could have use the extra power in the wind. Enjoy your riding videos, and am looking forward to more. If you feel like it I took over 60 videos of my trip last summer and have them posted on KZbin under the name Pat McGuinness. They get better as I go along. Aloha Pat

I recently acquired a '79 CB750-F, and it's turned out to be a lovely bike for long trips. Done about 1500 miles in the last month and I'm just loving it. 👍 Think I'm going to find myself a set of hard bags next so I don't have to strap everything onto the seat in a duffel bag.

Sounds like a great trip, wish I was young enough to do a ride like that. There is another channel I follow "Itchy Boots" and it's a young lady from The Netherlands that rides a very similar bike. She travels around the world on motorcycles and is currently posting videos of her trip starting from somewhere in South America (Chile I think) to Alaska. Her current videos have her somewhere in Baja, Mexico.

Juan I love it when I can line up a landmark building with what your video is revealing. I had never heard of Wallace Idaho. What a lovely small town. I may never visit it physically but being able to see what the town looks like through the lens of Google Maps is quiet the treat. Just getting a snapshot of the history as revealed in Wikipedia shows how our great nation is full of little gems that dot the vast network of roads. You do give us a little sneak peak when you include your audience on your annual get-away-from-it-all trail bike rides.

Lol thats cool Juan to see you someplace I have been a dozen times at least, my family used to go to Wallace every summer on the short drive from here in Spokane, WA. Its a cute little town and my mom and grandma (may she RIP) loved going to the antique shops. And I actually have family around Idaho such as close by to Spokane in Post Falls and a little farther south in Lewiston (of course you covered the pilot who crashed there a year ago recently). But I am a Washington Patriot and still love where I live and grew up more.

I found out about the Avenza app when I purchased a Benchmark map of Montana. It is great! I got Montana, Wyoming and Colorado right now. Will be adding Idaho and Utah maps. I love the detail and the tracking. Aren't those bikes similar to the one Noraly rides? On to the next video!

Noraly Schumacher (Itchy Boots on KZbin) a Dutch woman from the Nederlands, who speaks English, is on a Honda CRF300L and is in Mexico now heading to Alaska. She has driven the world and now is on the South American route North having already accomplished the South African to Europe portion of her journey. Her beauty, both physical and personality, are infectious. She’s a trained Geologist with an explorers mindset. I watch her every posting. “Let’s Go!” Is her call to arms.

There's a Dutch gal that has one of these but box stock, she bought it in Holland, flew it to Ecuador? and is riding it loaded to Alaska. It is as reliable as a hammer, she changes tires, filters, and oil and hits the starter and goes. When it tips over she can pick it up, pry it out of the mud, it goes over mountains and through the rivers. A very under-rated bike. Great big bikes are for coffee shops and bragging, not off road

Have a honda 300 too,,a rebel. Could not keep up with you two on the bdr but the bike does good on the highway. Surprised you are not rocking some saddle bags. Guess bare bones is the best but I need tools and tire kits and just to ride five miles uptown. Been longing for the two of you back on a bdr,,,thanks

Awesome bikes. I have been trying to find one for over a year. Also, you're heading to my part of the country. St Regis to Flathead to Glacier then back south through Lincoln, Garnet, Philipsburg, Skalkaho, Hamilton, Wisdom, and Dillon is a great loop.

Nice ride! Super jelly! I usually try to do a multi state tour with friends thru the west States at least once a year on ADVs (1200s). Thats a hell of a ride on 300s! 👍👍 to ya!
