I recently bought a ‘19 CRF250r, it has electric start and no kicker. So far so good, but I’m still reaching down when it’s time to fire it up lol. I wish it came with both. Huge difference from my ‘95 CR250r

No ARC perch.. just put it on my 17 too. Dealer called and said I need to bring in my stock perch to finish the install :( Thanks for the vid!

If you want to use ARC perch, you can put just basic ON/OFF switch to the wires that are going to micro switch.

Yes it is. You just leave the kickstart and it's gears in place and add the electric starter. It is on the .pdf that comes with the kit.

Only if you have electric start. The micro switch allows the start to operate.

You can get one from the Honda dealer, part number is 11332-HP1-601. You can use also a normal 28mm (?) car engine plug from you local repair shop.

The electric start 👌 There is only one version of CRF450R, but you can replace the kick starter with electric start kit bought from Honda. There is a CRF450RX version for cross country / enduro that comes stock with electric start, has bigger tank, 18" rear wheel, stand and different engine mounts and some different ECU maps.

Hopefully you have had chance to test both bikes back to back. We have tested both bikes (actually all of 2017 450's) and like Honda's forks over KTM. As Dirty Harry said “Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.”, but no matter what your opinion is, you still have to check the air pressure each and every time you ride when using air forks.

If you haven't tried both can't really say which one is better. And even if you try both, you could only say which one is better for you. As far the quality of build Honda is second to none and has a lot fewer recalls compared to KTM (front wheels, gearboxes, cranks, broken frames etc.).
