The trunk latch on my 2009 CRV stopped opening when it should have. I disassembled the door as described above. While troubleshooting the problem, I disconnected the electrical connectors. When I re-connected them, the latch began working. Evidently corrosion of the electrical contacts was preventing the circuit from closing. It has now worked for over a year.

So what was it bad switch? Mine was a broken purple wire in the Rear passenger door boot.

Hi Dean, No. The problem was with the rear driver side door actuator. It had frozen and it probably messed up the electrical signal going to the trunk latch. As if the door actuator and trunk latch were in series. Once I fixed the actuator, the latch problem resolved on its own.

Gosh they didn’t put any sound dampening in this car at all. I’m going to have to take a weekend and pop all the panels and dynamat mine. No wonder the panels rattle so much when the sub is up loud.

@@cooldude6249 no don’t have the time. It does help 100 percent. I did it to my previous camero as I had a 12 in the trunk. Helped with the rattle and sound was more contained.
