Yes sir! I'm glad you put this video out. This helps tremendously, going thru forums and actually seen it is night and day. The only thing is the B series alternator I have for some reason doesn't line up with the top bracket.

Glad it helped!

@@MakeItSo after a long while I now just finished doing this same pulley swap. I got my hands on an obd1 alternator and mounted perfectly, the OBD2 alternator did not line up at the top bolt. Have you had any issues around this pulley swap?
@MakeItSo2 жыл бұрын
@@marcozuniga8163 So far no issues whatsoever. I'm using OBD0 alternator.

Whats up, I'm getting ready to finally turn my car after 3 yrs of building it. Im trying to locate what alternator belt to run. Did you use the stock Ef? Thanks

Nevermind I saw someone asked already. Thanks

Man I wish I knew this before I did my swap and hammered in my frame rail!

I found this pulley swap described in an old forum post somewhere and decided to give it a shot and it worked out.

Have you had any problems since installing it like charging issues or anything?
@MakeItSo2 жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing. Smaller pulley slower charging, but I haven't had any issues so far. Seems nominal.

@@MakeItSo I greatly appreciate the feedback I've been looking into doing this for a couple months but no one has said anything about how it worked out or if it caused problems

@@MakeItSo smaller pulley make more current than the bigger pulley because if bigger pulley completes 1 rotation than smaller pulley rotate 1.5 rotation people changing their bigger pulleys to smaller pulleys to get more current from alternator

What belt did you use. i just has my pulley done like you did

Bando 3PK760 Been running thIs for 500+ miles with zero issues.
@marcozuniga8163 Жыл бұрын
@@MakeItSothanks for the info, I bought 3PK760 but I also found 3PK750 which is about .5in shorter, this allowed me to have the alternator pushed all the way forward and kept the clearance from the pulley to frame about .5in as well.

@@marcozuniga8163 Nice! I'll check that out when I have to replace mine.

Did this prevent you from having to hammer the frame?
@MakeItSo2 жыл бұрын
Yes. It fully clears the frame with no denting required. I'm behind posting videos but eventually I'll post one showing the clearance.

@@MakeItSo great! I have a b20v that I want to swap into my 91 wagon and I didnt want to beat the frame in if I could avoid it. 👍👍

The question that i have is, the SIR jdm version came with a b16, what alternator it use?
@MakeItSo2 жыл бұрын
I don't know the model number. But it had large enough pulley that you need to dent the USDM chassis for it to fit. Maybe the JDM SiR has the chassis clearance from the factory?
@efboiz53022 жыл бұрын
Only thing that might keep me from doing this is that the belt might have the potential to walk over to the empty rib on the crank pulley
@MakeItSo2 жыл бұрын
That's a good point. Might hasn't walked yet. Been about 100mi so far.
@efboiz53022 жыл бұрын
If it were to happen, I would expect it might take awhile, once the belt has stretched/lost some tension. Do keep us updated!
