Excellent work Steven and thank you for these informative videos on the CTX1300. Such a beautiful bike in red. Tomorrow I board a plane to pick up a 2nd hand Deluxe model and will enjoy the 9 hour ride back home.

Hi Steve. I bought a RAM fitting to go into the centre of the steering .... you need to re,over the centre grommit and put the RAM mount in .... works fine and centres everything. I also dropped my handlebars a little to improve seeing the mirrors.

I have now re-mounted mine to the centre and its so much better. I intend doing a part 3 video showing that and how to adjust the suspension.

Hi Steven from Down Under. Love your videos of my dream bike. As far as your GPS is concerned , here in Aussieland you can get from your local bicycle shop extendable bars to put on girls bikes in order to carry them on a car bike rack. I wonder if you can get them in the UK. They have clamps on each end and so might fit across the centre gap. Might solve your problem.
@StevenUpton14-187 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I found on eBay riser extenders to bring the bars a couple of inches closer. But by adjusting the backrest to move me forward a little, problem solved. I will be making a part 3 when I get time, as I have moved the GPS to the centre of the handle bars and its a lot better place, I can now use the last mirror again. Along with a couple of other items, part 3 coming soon.

What is the cost of the saddle, I'm very interested in this bike and I'd like to know what the cost is for the extras. Does your have cruise or is it available, do you know?
@StevenUpton14-185 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. The bike does not have a cruise control. I have recently changed it for a BMW K1600 which does. The lack of a cruise was one of the reasons for changing. I bought the Corbin saddle whilst working in the USA. If you compare the prices on the Corbin European website to their main website there is a very big difference. At the time it was (in round figures) £900 in the USA and £1500 in the UK. If you live in American then you do not have this problem. For my new BMW I have bought a Sargent saddle. This was £980, compared to £1500 for a Corbin. www.sargentcycle.co.uk

I am 5'6" and a new rider. I saw this bike in my local shop and fell in love with it at first sight as I am in the market for a cruiser style bike. Do you feel that this bike would be too much for a new rider or should I start with a smaller bike?
@StevenUpton14-186 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. Its not that this bike is overly powerful, I'd call it quick but not fast, as in a sports bike is fast. However, I think its a big bike to start off with. It may be a good idea to get used to something smaller before graduating to a bike of this size. Its not so much the engine size, but the overall size of the bike with fairing and luggage. I also note that you are 5'6" and I am 6'1", I wonder if you can place both your feet flat on the ground at the same time? I can, just! You may want to consider having the saddle lowered if this is a problem.
@calyre6 жыл бұрын
Steven Upton, I am 5'8" and I'm definitely flat footed on the ground at stop on this bike. Unless this person has very short inseam, he should be able to have both feet down when stopped.

Steve eBay, have a gps mount for the CB500X Honda, it looks to have the correct hole spacing which means it should fit your machine.

@StevenUpton14-187 жыл бұрын
Its a Corbin. go to www.corbin.com If you buy it via their European website its very expensive. I was working in the USA for a couple of weeks and a friend ordered it for me there. Worked our nearly half the price of buying it in the UK.

@StevenUpton14-187 жыл бұрын
www.corbin.com is their main USA site. There is a website just for Europe as well. I bought it in America as it was nearly half the price of the Europe website. I then had a friend who was visiting me in England bring it as luggage.
