Agreed! . This is why I made the move to Acura. No CVT and no 1.5 liter garbage. Not to mention the prices between Honda and Acura aren't so far apart. My car does have a turbo but at least it has a 2.0L.

The new hybrids at least aren't CVTs. They're 2.0 naturally aspirated bulletproof Honda engines with an electric motor being used as the transmission directly. Phenomenal design.

I’m shopping 2024 Accords now. I don’t find any dealers with lots of volume, especially hybrid Accords. I also don’t find any ATL dealers discounting them. They are knocking off about $1500 but then adding back on $1500 in junk fees like ceramic.

Honda likes to have all of the prior year's cars sold when new cars start rolling in dealers, and will have all sorts of programs if it sees there are too many unsold cars. Go in now and offer 20% off and be sure to leave your contact info. You will get a call on the afternoon of June 30 agreeing to your price if you agree to come in and take it home that day.

Traded in a 1.5T Si for a hybrid CRV. I justified the purchase because I wanted to move away from the 1.5T, which was a very nice car. I must say that the hybrid engine so far is very very nice.

Turbo engines do not have long-term High reliability. Just go hybrid. You'll get a better ride better mileage and lower maintenance in the long run. Overall better car

Last year I wanted a 23 Accord EX. I had 8200 cash equity in my trade. In Texas, the insurance in my 6 months would jump 445. The Civic was 440 more. Highway robbery! The lowest increase of 235 was the 24 HRV EXL. I bought the HRV EXL on lower insurance. I paid MSRP 29,000. No mark ups. I’m paying 342.00 a month. My insurance is 229.00 a month. I financed 20,500. I’m paying extra principal so in 10 months I’m at 11,800. Don’t over pay. I sacrificed the Accord I wanted due to lower insurance. I refused to pay 300 a month for insurance on the Accord EX last year. The HRV EXL is a top safety pick plus.

Negative. 2024 is a drop off of a cliff. 2020-2023 was great except for the entry-level model. Honda blew it in 2024 and Toyota slipped right in to grab the top spot again and Mazda is right behind them. Honda and Acura don't seem to understand how to design and power an affordable sedan in 2024.

Honda has no feel for moderm U.S buyers...we want VALUE & cars that will have high resale and high reliability.....many of us dont want Hybrids.....no weak 1.5Ls juiced withTurbos making them work much harder longterm....at least give us 2.5L if you are slapping a Turbo on it....otherwise stick with natural 2 or 2.5L 4cyl around 180-205HP...also many dont want unreliable CVTS...what happened to the bulletproof perfected 8 speed autos?

I am in market to replace my CRV size vehicle, and am taking a hard pass on Honda. The hybrid CRV only tows 1,000 lbs and has no spare tire. Not class competitive. And why you can't get fog lights on these "rugged, all-weather" vehicles is beyond me. Nice that they put little rectangle shape highlights on the lower part of the front grill, but strictly ornamental. I've owned 4 Honda cars during my lifetime, totalling over 30 years and 300,000 miles of driving, so I'm not a "Honda hater". But their current offerings aren't cutting it. They've lost their way on too many models. Meanwhile if you are interested in a CIvic Si or Type R, supplies are really tight. I've heard that the new Integra is not selling either. (Not sure any Acuras are really flying off the lots. Pricing is harsh.)

Maybe look into the Acura RDX CPO a little cheaper than a CRV but a much better car with a robust K2 motor with turbo and a normal transmission.

I just got the new crv hybrid sport L for $36,855 MSRP. With the $500 paint added too. It ended up being $42,000 out the door with a little dealer fees and taxes. I dont think i overpaid at all

@@jesseevangelista2422 on what exactly, only add ons was $600 tint & $600 doc fee. The rest was taxes & registration, maybe a few hundred in other misc stuff. They already discounted the msrp by $2k. You would ask for higher msrp discount? These used with 10k miles are still $35k. 4 years ago model with 40k miles are still $30k. Only thing i think i got screwed on was taxes but dont we all

Honda cannot justify the pricing nor the updated higher pricing on the 25 models of CR-Vs because they lack features and competitive offerings. The CR-V lacks when comparing to other models including a Sportage or Escape even. The price of them feel like a rip off.

Personal vehicle ownership is a huge money pit. Purchase, maintenance, insurance are all very expensive and have gone on an inflationary binge since Covid. Quality and reliability have dropped while prices have soared, crazy. If you don't have to commute, a ride share app makes more sense, and will make even more sense once vehicles go full autonomous. The biggest room in most homes is the garage, what a waste. Just want a robo-car to arrive at my door when I click the app, don't want to get fleeced by sleazy dealerships and saddled with an 84-month auto mortgage.

It really is a money pit, I think it makes if you don't have to commute much like you said, but also living in a city where everything is close by definitely helps. Out here in Florida everything is so far apart that uber fares can get pricey quick!

You have to fight you way through 3 grand of bs dealer add-ons. To Even get at MSRP. They tried to make me think I was getting a deal by discounting a marked up car. $2500 hundred off a Camry sticker rolling of the truck. What chance did Honda have of getting my money.

@@ztekz Honda used to have V-Tec, but it's like Honda's been neutered. Doesn't matter if Bonda has hybrid or awd. If it's hybrid, one buys Toyota. If it's AWD, one buys Subaru. It used to be Honda was more fun, i.e. reliability and power with manual shift starting with base Civic. But Honda just can't pull that off with the current regulations. Civic Type-R is just a cruel joke for the layman.
