Actually I just ordered one lol. Got a VERY good discount on a brand new one. I will home charge 95+% of the time, so the charging speed really isnt a problem to me. Now this is very subjective, but I like the exterior looks, its not too unconventional, but quite stylish. But for me the interior is the winner along with the inclusion of just about every thinkable option included as standard on the Advance model I just ordered. I tried a Kona, not very impressed, I did like the Enjaq but it left me a little uninspired, the Ionic 5 is a better car in many many ways, but I hated the interior, in the KZbin reviews and pictures it did look good, but once sat in it, I really didnt like the space age looks. So I came back to the Honda. If you look hard enough you can get some VERY good deals on a new car like I did :)

Excellent balanced review. Who in their right mind would buy this over just about any of its competitors, especially model y at the same price or even a model 3 at 5 grand less or even the MG4 at a lot less.

Thanks for the review. Seems like Honda aren’t trying hard enough on EVs. Their little car was not produced in high numbers, I believe, and this SUV is not competitive on range, price and charging speed.

Its a shame. I was looking for ward to this (and still looking forward to the Honda Prologue) but the E:Ny1is truly a disappointment in just about every category compared to its current competitors. Truly disappointing for a company with history and resources like Honda.

Those honda wheel arches! What was honda thinking? Battery sits very low underneath...quite a few reviewers have mentioned this. Not sure if any damage to battery covered by warranty in this respect.

Who will buy these? There's no outstanding qualities and it is poor in quite a few area, particularly price. These will have to be heavily discounted to sell I expect. The Japanese makers are really slacking with BEV development.

A Chinese made Honda, originally made for just the Chinese market. Unfortunately looks way too expensive against other Chinese made EVs.

I'm just catching up on all this Honda e vehicles stuff. I knew about the Honda e from all the concepts and prototype but was majorly let down with the production vehicle more so than the limited range. That Honda e looked AMAZING, retro af AND futuristic at the same time. Now this Honda e:Ny1 has totally caught me by surprise, I thought it was the Honda Prologue that I just found out about, a project with GM that Honda is working on. I thought the e:Ny1 was the Japanese/European market name for the Prologue but it's a completely different car. The Prologue has a longer range,somewhere around 300 miles from what I read, and looks WAY better than the e:Ny1. Just not too sure about teaming up with GM reliability wise, but then again, these are electric. The Prologue with its 300 mile range, I can almost make it. to Vegas from my home in Southern California. Baker, California has a super charging station where I could top off before making it to Vegas. Hmm.. keep my old Honda Pilot for long trips and get an electric car for work/daily life in So Cal?? Or. maybe go hybrid??

Thank you for giving an explanation about the sound system; I couldn't get if the car had a subwoofer or not (on the Advanced trim). Nobody ever talks about sound systems in the cars, that's such a pity (from my opinion...). So thank you to do so and to foresee separate reviews about this also.

Well some of its competitors are also around that, but they also come in at a much cheaper price or offer something unique - so yes, not great!

Much talk about the price. Which compact SUV with the same equipment is cheaper? Well, not many can be found! The battery size is also similar. Niro and Megane are very close in price. XC40 and EQA much more expensive.

@@TotallyEV It depends on what you value. Honda looks more traditional, many competitors too special. I appreciate more traditional myself. If you need fast charging once a year, but every day you like to use two large screens, electric leather seats, security systems, etc., then it can influence your choice. Honda's hybrids have wireless Android hidden in the menu. Hopefully here too.

The e:Ny1 is actually a joint venture with Dongfeng a Chinese-government owned car manufacturer, known for making “copy-cat” cars or dupes.

What is going with Honda? After the e and this with such rubbish stats why would anyone unless they are a die hard Honda fanatic consider one. They seem to be three to five years behind the compition with stats like that. It's a shame because they were a great company.

Doesn’t do or offer enough at the mid-£40k price point; decent car, but uncompetitive really and one for hardcore Honda fans mostly!
