I have this problem with mine. It started when the dealership replaced the airbag for the recall. I figured they disconnected the cruise buttons and didn’t reconnect them. I’m replacing the ignition this weekend and will check both. Thanks for the vid!

The dealer replaced the airbag on my car on a recall and replaced the turn signal cancellation piece upside down and after that my left turn signal light would not cancel properly. I was years realizing that the dealer caused the problem.

The first rule of troubleshooting is KISS... Keep It Simple Stupid. Thank you for reminding me about the switch (which I normally keep on). My cruise control works again. 🤣🤣🤣

What causes the green light on the cruise control activation switch located on lower left dashboard to not work?
@buckygoldstein92562 жыл бұрын
The switch on the brake peddle is screw adjustable. You should be able to just move the switch to the correct distance from the brake peddle. No need for the tape or getting a thicker bushing. Thanks for the video.

Lol... same thing happened to me, and I couldn’t figure out why cruise didn’t wanna engage!!! I put a small round head bolt in the bushing spot and that let my cruise come on!!

Great video, I have this problem now too. Going to the penny trick tomorrow over the pad. How did you position that magnet for the cell phone holder on the console btw?
@howtoboilwater48284 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The magnet I got for the cell phone is just held in place with heavy duty double sided tape and has been working well for me.. still in place 😊

As this fix does work, there is faults to it. Under that little pad is the break light switch. Now because you put that priece of metal there it completes the circuit which in turn leaves your breaks lights on, all the time. So it would be much easy to just go buy a new break switch which comes with that little pad. It is much easier and very inexpensive. I replaced mine at auto zone and it cost no little then 5 or 10 bucks.

Good to know; I just bought the same exact part as I found little plastic pieces under the brake pedal. Came out the next morning to a dead battery. Jumped it and noticed my brake lights stayed on. I'm still unsure if the small side goes towards the front of the car and wider side towards the switch? Maybe mine isn't thick enough either... Hmm

I would like to find the honda part but they are so hard to find. I have a 2006 CRV with the same problem

Can't you just unscrew the unit with the spring loaded pin with a 1/4 turn to the left. Then slide the whole unit in 1 or 2 threads in and then lock back into place with a 1/4 turn, just to push the white pin tip closer to the brake pedal?

I understand the problem (car think the brake is on), but your solution description is unclear. Vague.
