Honda Element Rear Running Lights

Decided to add a set of flush/shallow mount 6" fog lights to the rear of our shop's Honda Element. It's hard to see in the wilderness when backing up at night, so I added these lights to remedy the issue. I also added the 12V source plug to the rear of our Element. It did not come with the socket from the factory (base model), but the wiring harness was already in the car, just tucked away behind the panel. This video shows how I installed the lights. There are other ways to do this. This is just how we decided to do it.

Thanks for the vid! Good to see what removing that rear piece was like. My rear bumper was dented when I got it, so the silver cover piece is already 'coming out' on the end. So maybe a bit easier for me :D

Bottom clips will still give some difficulty unless you have a decent trim tool. Glad the video can help out.

Why not use the reverse power so they come on at the same time rahter than a separate switch.

I had thought about doing it that way but I don’t want them to come on every time I put the car in reverse, just in case the local authorities didn’t care for them. I also wanted independent control over the lights themselves as I camp out of my Element frequently and wanted to be able to turn them off and on when needed.
