This is true for almost all automatics. By downshifting, it prevents engine damage due to lugging. Even in manual, if you are in a high gear 4 or 5 and your speed is very less, you can hear engine lugging, which is not good for your engine life. In fact some manuals that have digital displays ask you to shift to a lower gear when your speed is very low.

Note: you can use paddle shifters in D mode as well. But sports mode provide you complete controls on your car.

Seems you are using a honda cvt car for the first time. This is how it works in honda cvts. This has been in place for decades now.

Yes, I am truly not aware of this. I have driven manual cars for 26 yrs, since 1997, never driven an auto/cvt vehicles before this. And I have mentioned several times, i am just sharing my experience.

@@harshadpandit5483 yeah, loving it. My previous car too was a Honda make, WRV VX MT. Ofc, i am a fan of Honda Cars. Initially i booked Manual variant, but shifted to CVT just a week before delivery. (just into Mid 40s, so its also a factor) 😁😁

shift your gear lever to D- Drive mode you can directly shift from D to S, and S to D while driving.

How is the overtaking ability with 4 people?

you can easily overtake with 4 people onboard. you may feel initial lag for 2/3 sec at start or at very low speeds, but at speeds above 50/70 kmph, the vehicle responds instantly to the acceleration, engine picks up speed, and overtaking is easy.

You can turn off all features excepting CMBS. Press Home icon on your left steering buttons, Select Settings, and ADAS, then you can change all to Warning Only or Normal. But CMBS cannot be turned OFF permanently, it is auto turned ON every time you start the vehicle. So you have to turn OFF on every engine start if you wish to, by selecting Security Settings in the list.

Does Paddle shifters only work with Sports Mode ...Normal D Mode can't we use Paddle shifters ? Also, when Exactly do we use Sports Mode while Driving ...and Whats the Purpose of it in Fuel Economy ?

Firstly, CVT doesnt have wheels (gears) like normal or automatic gear box. The purpose of Sports mode is for enthusiasm. i mean it converts your vehicle into a manual kind, and you can shift gears as per your needs..for pick up and acceleration. Drive mode synchronize the gears (pulley) automatically as per engine speed and acceleration.

That's not true. You can downshift and upshift gears in D (drive) mode too. It comes in handy when you want to quickly overtake a vehicle by downshifting.

Paddle shifters work in D mode in City. So it should work in Elevate too.

I didn't quote it as a bug anywhere in the video..I am driving manual cars since 1999, and this is my first automatic car, so its a new thing for me. There might be few like me, who got to know this, only after shifting to automatic cars..
