For petrol car, this warm up cycle, idling rpm etc is necessary???? Compression pressure, combustion temperature etc were far less compared to Diesel Engine. All ideas/ views you have shared works nicely for 2000-2014 diesel engines available in India. With evolution of design and metallurgy, these things were not required, if so it would be mentioin makers manual, which in Honda Petrol engine's case not present😊

Thanks for the information. However, it is important to go through the car manual as it always has the recommended practice for starting and stopping the engine. For instance, my car's manual recommend me to move at a very low speed until the engine reaches its optimal temperature as indicated by the temperature gauge.

@@lingobol 99% of my drive is city, people may face some nvh issues on Highways in high speeds, I have been out of station twice some 1200kms up and down. I enjoyed the drive. There is nil V/H but you may feel tire noise touching the road (N). Doing good Damping will solve it. I didn't do any damping ofc. The drive is very smooth for me, its 14 months with my car now.

I read somewhere, that ' instead of wasting fuel this way'( Shall i say, warm-up before the dial settles to the prescribed rpm), you can drive very slow!! 'creep' mode in CVT gearbox, & first gear in mannual one!! From the last year, I am a proud owner of a 2012, new shape( at that time) Swift Dezire, with CVT!! I don't know, why Maruti stopped selling CVT, By Gods grace, despite being a second hand car, its smooth as a ' butter'!! As I have a long ' gully' to drive, before i hit the main road, from the past one year, immediately after cranking the engine, I start driving the car, in creep mode( I don't press the accelerator)!! The rpm drops to 'prescribed idling rpm'!! And i drive @ 1 k.m. this way, until i hit the road!! Is it o.k.? ( This way, i am saving the precious petrol, & am not pressing the acceleration either) Kindly educate!!🎉

Just because of this auto enablement feature of ADAS collision system , i have dropped the model, i wish if Honda have given normal cruise control in VX models then things would have been different.. here Suzuki engineers take the advantage and introduced cruise control from base model of Grand Vitara AT transmission, hence the reason of high sales of GV.

For me within a minute the rpm drops below 1000 rpm...no idea it is normal or not. I do have exactly the same vehicle cvt.

@@ankitpradhan1985 You mean even when starting after couple of days. Infact when the engine is cold, and started..Excess fuel is pumped in by ECU (Electronics control Unit) the engine runs at higher RPM to warm up. This is normal for most of the engines, and gradually stabilises to its idling speed. May be your vehicle engine gets warmed up faster, so drops down to idling speed earlier.

@@ankitpradhan1985 I dont think any issue with your engine.. The faster tge engine is warmed up, the faster it comes down to idling speed. Which car are you using.

@@kirankumarmrjain Reliability ofc Honda wins. If you go with mileage, speed, power and exterior looks Verna excels. Cjty has quite and smooth engine., and good interiors. Choice is ofc dependent on one's necessities.

@@kirankumarmrjain Sedan is never my preference. And city is near 1 feet longer than Elevate. I did check City, though city feels more luxurious and premium than elevate, my choice is crossover since beginning. Elevate is as powerful as City, as both have same engine, and same chassis. Its not at all underpowered, it can easily pull with 5 occupants too.

My honest option about the seat comfort. There is lack of thigh support for driver and also all the passangers. Especially for drivers it gives you knee pain even when driving for more than an hour. There are few hacks you can try to get some thigh support while driving which really works. But I think Honda should have provided this.

True sir. I own an elevate. I find the seats very uncomfortable. Very firm, less thigh support, poor lumbar support, very upright position... I am literally hating the seating positions

It takes less than a minute for the engine oil to circulate everywhere in the engine, that's the time one needs to wait before pushing off. On starting the RPM shall be high as the engine is cold and as it heats up the RPM reduces. There is no need for one to wait for the engine to warm up until it reaches the specified idling RPM because once you accelerate the engine would anyway heat up quickly and the optimum idling RPM would reach earlier. The onboard ECU takes care of everything and one just needs to start his /her car wait for the engine oil to circulate and zip off.

Modern cars you can start driving immediately after u start the engine. One still needs to make sure not to run the engine at higher rpm until the engine temperature reach its optimum operating temperature. Engine warms up better and faster when the car is rolling and not idling. In short, no need to let the car sit in idle to warm up the engine, just drive gentle initially until the engine reach operating temperature. If one reads the manual there is no instruction to warm up the engine by idling, instead they tell to drive out right away.

Hi, great video, just 2 points. 1. In some vehicles there is a blue engine icon which means the engine is cold so one can start driving as that icon goes off. The rest of the people can follow as what you suggested. 2. The left side is actually a screen and not analogue. Honda has tried to match the analogue dial on the right so that both look seemless.

@@aryansambyal-integrated5869 Ofc Yes. 😁. My office is just 100 mtrs far. And i take out my vehicle once in a week or fortnightly, And i use my Yamaha R15S mostly. Even my previous car WRV, it run only 27K kms in 4½ yrs. My vehicle running is very less. And i rarely go on long drives.

@@TheLionKing047 Strictly it depends upon your requirements. If you intend for pickup, it can go upto 3K RPM or above. But if you you intend for smooth operation and good mileage 1500 RPM is preferable.

@@TheLionKing047 See, it totally depends upon driving style. There is no specific thumb rule. Normally for smooth shifting, ypu can follow 1st Gear (15-20kmph) 2nd (20-30) 3rd (30-50) 4th (45-70) and 5th (65-80). Shift to 6th when you reach 80kmph. And remember to shift gears between 2000 to 2500 Rpm for smooth functioning.

@@virajdave6973 its not abt features or macho looks, ofc intended to go for crossover. And firstly i like Honda, my previous car was also Honda. I loved their after sales service, and particularly the quality, smoothness and reliability. I am not much interested in sedans. My previous WRV was just 4½ yrs old. No plan to buy a new car upto 2028. But Honda launched Elevate, just went for it.

@@venkadesh27 Just some 15-20 seconds max, until all the electrical/electronics to get power, and let all the dashboard lights/indicators turn off by themselves. For Engine, normally it takes around 2-3 mins for RPM to get to its idling speed. This is only during first start of the day after a long rest. On a regular restart during the day, it may not require.

@@AbhayIsaac You will find difference after 3rd Service, some 1-2 kmpl increase. Mine is 95% City Drive, it fluctuates between 11.5 to 13.5 kmpl depending on traffic.

Ofc i did query with other showrooms too, but unfortunately NO discounts, NO free accessories, No exchange bonus during launch sales. I liked Sundaram Honda, particularly after sales Service. Very prompt and customer centric.

@@atoveswu920 i didn't face any such issues, its 1 yr done on my vehicle, never faced issues on infotainment system, Bluetooth calls, whatsapp audio calls, nor Android Auto. Everything running smooth since Day 1. May be an update require, or try reset once.

Ok, if it's came with Nitrogen, then it's not necessary for frequent refill. You may need to do it approx once in 6 months. I assume that the car delivered with air filled tires instead Nitrogen. Thanks.

@@Mr.Coffee576 ADAS is complete wast for Indian roads. You can turn off all features permanently except CMBS (Braking). CMBS can be turned OFF, but every time you turn ON the ignition, it automatically Switches ON (activates). CMBS disturbs you, rather i say it scares you and the other occupants when it brakes suddenly. Anyhow, once you get familiarised with the vehicle, CMBS wont be a concern.

What if i put some sticker on ADAS CAMERA AND THERE sensor it dont sens anything CMBS won't work and cruise also shiffed to normal any suggetion...?

None of the ADAS functions work IF you put a sticker obstructing the ADAS Camera, (which i too thought of it - at times) Cruise does work mechanically, but it doesn't slow down when your vehicle gets closer to a vehicle ahead as sensor is obstructed by a sticker., Ofcourse It does auto speed mechanically to a set speed , but you have to control braking by yourself. Remember - Cruise shuts off when you press the brake., you have to press Restart on Steering controls to resume it back.
