The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

I’ve had my trusty 2000i since they first came out and have used it for weeks on Ed in my RV, as well as for DJ’ing outdoor events. I haven’t used it since I’ve been grounded and stuck in the desert, and yes, I have since had to deal with carb issues ONLY because of infrequent use, so I am sooooo ready to convert my little red friend to propane! Just installed the Hutch Mountain kit on my generator, it didn't take much time at all. Following the instructions made it easy, it took about an hour and a half to do the job. Adjusted the regulator and the generator runs fine even under a heavy load. My thanks to Hutch Mountain for catching my shipping charge mistake, saved me some money! Took a photo of the completed conversion on my Facebook page and got a request for info. Hope I got you guys some more business.

Today I was in Utah looking for a extended run tank kit for my Honda eu2200i I stopped in Elsinore Utah at the Honda dealership and they told me about this guy that did up grades on the Honda eu generators not knowing that this was the same guy I had been researching for months now I accidentally cam across the man that actually made the propane conversion kit. After meeting the owner I will tell you this is the most honest person I’ve ever meet not only does he know his stuff but he in stalled it in about 30 minutes test runs and everything. I spent days reviewing reviews, visiting websites, watching videos. Pros & cons for the 3 main kinds: convert to propane-removes gas tank, can't use gas, only propane, convert to propane-you can still use gasoline as needed, when needed; or propane. Convert to propane/natural gas; use either, or use gasoline when needed. I decided to convert to propane with the flexibility/freedom to use gasoline when/if necessary. The Hutch Mountain kit is absolutely the best kit out there. Why? Simple to install, clear, easy to follow instructions. You can't make a mistake if you read the instructions. It is a well-engineered system. The propane regulators are mounted/attached to the propane tank, a hose to the generator quick disconnect fitting. I disliked the other kits on the market that mount the regulator on the generator-BIG negative there. The kit has labels clarifying the new functions of the generator's on/off knob. The updated/improved kit installs an on/off switch that, in the gasoline mode, will allow the generator to run and empty the gasoline lines. A bit of gasoline remains in the carb bowl, but that is burned out when using propane. Everything was well thought out and designed. Took about an hour to install two kits and 3 pulls on each cord to start the two generators. Bulletproof. Highly recommend!

Hi, Terrific video and a great idea but unfortunately here in Australia if you add any conversion you automatically void your warranty with Honda. Not sure what's best, either wait untill your out of warranty or try to find a second unit used.

What would be the price comparison between using gasoline vs. using propane? Also the operating hours between the two? I currently use a Honda EG2800I generator and a portable air conditioner to save money vs. idling my semi truck during the hot season. Saves me an estimated $25.00 a day. I’m not looking to switch to propane if the cost is the same as idling my semi truck.

I really need to get away from gas varnish disabling both of my EU2000 generators. I am about to spend about $160 to replace the carburetor on one of my EU2000's that is so gummed up I can't repair it. Question for you is - I'd rather put that $160 towards a Hutch Mountain conversion kit and fix the carburetor later - does the carburetor need to be in good running condition in order for the conversion system to function?

@@martinandersson5278 LPG up the head temperature (difference of enthalpy of vaporization between gas and propane) , and some car need valves saver (liquid like oil who is vaccum-swallowed by the engine). For aircooling, i don't think it is necessery, and this honda engine is maybe make for.

Propane, Natural Gas or Hydrogen Engines don't come out of tune. Gaseous fuels run very clean, no fouling spark plugs ever and spark plugs last for years, spark arrestor never needs cleaning or clogs up, oil stays cleaner on gaseous fuels engines and last longer, Liquid fuel engines flood, carbon build up not as clean burning. Look at Grenergy on you tube he tests the propane engine with a temp gun no over heating. The gaseous fuels run cooler. You will not over heat the valves or engine unless you run propane or gaseous fuels on the rich side. A propane engine it's unheard of to run to lean and burn up even with propane drag engines. Gaseous fuel engines like propane engines last 2-3 times longer. February 7 2022 propane is $2.00 a gallon. No fuel treatment or stopped up carb or starting problems of gaseous fuel engines like liquid fuel engine problems. Gaseous fuel engines look New on the inside after years of use because they burn almost 99.9% clean fuel.

I have two eu2000i's and I connect them together and I have a 30 amp conversion kit to give me 4000watts to run my Rv AC. I Have been running this with gas. Can I still keep this set up while running both on propane. And can I run one on propane and one on gas while connected together? Also I've read that when using propaneyou get less power???

The problem with the Hutch kit is that at best, it's bound to fail. And at worst, cause an explosion. The weakest link in their system is actually the piece that feeds the propane into the engine, which is simply a piece of 3D printed plastic... Anyone who installs that has to be genuinely insane. The Grenergy conversion kit uses a CNC machined aluminum venturi instead.

These little Honda's just sip the propane. The propane vaporization rates are more than adequate to keep up with the gen. You'll pretty much drain your entire propane tank with this setup. To your point, with a much larger gen on a smaller tank, you could run into an issue. These little guys work great on a 20lb-er. We have even tested this kit on a 1lb Coleman bottle & it worked great. We'll have to post a video. Thanks for the comment!

Where is the fuel pump shut off switch ? How are you shutting off the fuel pump ? Does your kit allow the use of the 3 way use of natural gas , propane and gasoline . If you add a fuel pump on off switch you just turn off the switch and it will run till the gasoline is out of the line and then you can turn on the lp gas .

Euls12 i think it is a bit more efficient using gasoline but the exhaust when burning propane isn't as terrible to breath, the oil stays clean much longer and propane lasts about 25 years when stored properly vs 6 months to 1.5 years with our ethanol blended fuel. On that subject the carb will probably never need to be cleaned if you only burn propane because it is unlikely to ever become clogged.

@Euls12 I can tell you from hurricane Sally that gas was hard to find. Its the first thing people go hunting for after the storm. Gas stations had no power to run gas pumps and if they did have power the lines were miles long down the road. Not kidding there! Yes you should stock up when the storm is near but here on the Gulf Coast we were caught by surprise by this little storm and its power. If I had a couple bottles of propane in the garage to get by those first couple days that would of made all the difference. Or buying a couple 30lb tanks to keep in the garage. FEMA takes a few days to get organized as do the power companies and local governments. So having the option for propane during those first few days even if it costs way more is still the ticket! On day two I had to head pretty far north to get gas for the generator. I don't have a big yard so I have a couple small lawn mowers and smaller gas cans. I just don't use much gas at home. Yes I could get bigger cans but you have to store it or use it up. I have lived on the Gulf Coast for 30 years and this storm surprised me. The eye went over my house at 4:30 am. I'm 25 miles north of the beach and it was still rough for a Cat 1, 2. However, my EU2000 ran perfect with no issues! I almost went the boat gas tank route but I'm glad I didn't. I will be ordering Hutch Mountain's propane / natural gas kit and adding a EU2200 for more power. Thank you Hutch Mountain for having a kit that works like it should and looks OEM!

Propane has a lower fuel density than gas, therefore the same amount of fuel per gallon does less work. The honda may not be able to provide enough actual engine horsepower to give the full rated output electrically speaking, however, I am not sure about that. The engine may be slightly oversized for the generator. Be that as it may, the amount of propane needed to generate the same amount of power in watts will be more, however, the benefits are long term safe storage, less expensive fuel, so in my case in Commiefornia, once gas gets above $3.50 a gallon, it is less expensive to use propane which is $2.59 a gallon. Other benifits are propane is cleaner. What I worry about is the valve lifespan. Propane runs hotter. This is why Honda voids the warranty if you convert. (Mine is old, so I don't care. It's already been revived from dead already.) This also definitely affects the performance of the circuit breaker inside a shed. Mine trips if I don't leave the shed open due to "thermalling" into trip mode.

So during times of the generator not being needed, how much of a pain is it to rotate the stored gasoline into your vehicle and refill the emergency cans, maybe once every 3-6 months. Propane may be a little less efficient but the shelf life is light years above that of gasoline. I'll go with the propane.

@@geod3589 How many BTUs are in a gallon of gasoline? 116,090 Btus For example, conventional gasoline has an energy content of 116,090 Btus per gallon, while propane has an energy content of 84,250 Btus per gallon. As such, 1.38 gallons of propane has the same amount of energy as one gallon of conventional gasoline. I will need 1.38 gall propano what i do with one gallon of gas..!! Gasoline still cheap at $1.75 gallon..!!
