I've had my generator for 15 plus years now. It's a tank with thousands of hours and still starts on the first pull. Only thing I wish Honda would do because the newer rvs are coming with two AC units on the bigger models is to make a unit with 4,000 running watts. These are expensive but they will out last any other generator you can buy.

Came across you video showing a coworker how awesome it is. Had mine for almost 10 years with 100's of hours and never had one issue. Ran my fishing camp through out the year on it. When I read people knocking the price or brand I don't think they fully understand how good this genorator is. If you use a genorator 2 or 3 times a year then yes it don't justify the cost but if you use it like I did it's a must. In the winter running lights, TV and water pump I could get almost 30hrs on a tank of fuel. Summer time 6000btu AC, light, fans and TV 18hrs. Very impressive machine.

I so agree. You are right, if you are only going to use an inverter generator a couple of times a year then this may not be for them. For reliability or continous use, you cant beat the honda lineup. Thanks for the feedback.

How much oil does it take? At least 1 qt ? Never mind you said later. Change oil at 75 hours regardless of what the book says. 18 ounces isn’t much oil. When you start you ac do the vent first then go to cool. Same thing when you shut it down. Go from cool back to vent and when you shutting everything off let the generator run for a few minutes by itself to cool down before turning it off. I wish that it held more oil.

Hello Rene - I have recently changed to the Honda adapter. The yellow one did not fit as well as i would like. The 30 amp adapter made by honda works flawlessly. Here is the link - amzn.to/3tVRHaj

It isn't 110 volts out. Its 120, A quart of oil is 32 oz. 18oz. as required is a little over half the container. Don't OVER FILL! Some oil containers have a see through level on the side so just over 1/2 the quart should give you 18 oz.

your right, it is 120. I am so used to the old terms of calling things a 110 outlet at home that I said it here too. I guess now a days most probably do not call their outlets at home 110 outlets either. I will self correct. Thanks for the comment.

I have the same generator and had to take mine to the shop the other day cuz it wouldn’t start. It’s only two years old with maybe 20 hours on it. What Honda doesn’t tell you is that you need to run these generators at least once a month to keep the carburetor from gumming up even with fuel stabilizer. I even kill the fuel and run it dry after each use but it still gummed up. Kinda a bummer. Not impressed for a $2500 generator.

I use mine for power backup. I've run it a couple times from afternoon to next morning on one tank of gas. Mostly just the gas heater fan, computers, lights, and TV. Occasionally the coffee maker or hair dryer.
