In my humble opinion, it is not really louder... just sounds more "poppy" when running. I felt it improved overall MPH 1-2mph (results vary... could be more). If you do any other mods to improve speed...and if you don't swap mufflers or do mod to it... you'll find stock muffler is restricting you. I like this muffler mod, because it can be done and not change the outward look of the classic Honda Express nc50. Good Luck!

Wanted to post a more recent comment. This shit works! I've gotten +5 mph at least with all stock parts on my 81 express. I wish all mopeds were this easy to work on.

i cant really tell from the video... how much louder is it? i drive mine around campus and id like to avoid being the cause of even more noise pollution, if possible. if its really an improvement however, i might make an exception. does it add any MPH? does it increase acceleration at all? thanks for the vid!

take out the airfilter that helps
