Honda GX25 Carb Cleaning

Thanks for this. I have the same Mantis (albeit in better shape). Despite using only ethanol-free fuel, it sat too long with fuel in it. What I dumped out smelled like varnish, so I expect the carb is gummed up. Interestingly, after watching this, I went looking for a rebuild kit (gaskets, diaphragm, etc), but found a whole replacement carb for $5 on eBay from a seller five minutes from me. Not my typical luck.

Wow thanks for that. It is a process that you seem comfortable with, I would really have to take my time. The only thing I wondered about was the idle adjustment you made, couldn't see what screw you were turning.

There is a Phillips head screw on top. Tightening raises the idle and loosening lowers it

@@PNWSmallEngineandLawn Thanks-I have a Mantis Tiller with the same GX25 Honda Engine, and changed out the plug/fresh gas/oil's fine/air filter new and it started to not quite keep it's idle going this spring . I keep it in a shed and am just used to it working. Should I try adjusting the screw or go ahead with the carb cleaning as in your video? Also-If I do that-I don't have an ultrasound cleaning system, how would you clean the parts? Great video-looks like this carbeurator (how the heck do you remember how to spell that word?) is not your first rodeo.

Thanks for the show and info. Yeah my Husqvarna 224L Wacker, always gives me trouble lately. It's hard to start, then runs with a hunting idle. I can use it for about 3 minutes then it quits and won't start for 5 minutes, then starts and runs as before. I thought it was Coil but it has a really good spark right after it quits, so it's not that. So I'm hoping it's just the carburetor. I guess it could be an intermittent spark plug, it's the original from about 5 years ago but it look great. Anyways thanks for the show again I loved it. PS 40 minutes of yapping could probably be cut down a little, I have the same problem when doing my videos as well. 🤣🤣🤣 Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

My gx25 trimmer is cutting out at idle. About ten years old, air filter not clogged. Fresh fuel, new spark plug, could it be dirty carbeurator

Most likely a carb needing some cleaning and service. If it has adjustment screws you could try to retune it

Theres youtubes that say to fill the crank case to the top with oil...this doesn't make sence, why is there a dip stick...why not just a cap..working on equipment for over 40 years...this just doesn't make sence at all
