Hey there, I just wanted to thank you for this video. We’re sitting in our house right now just waiting for hurricane Milton to come directly over our heads. As of yesterday, my Honda generator that is only ran for about 10 hours., was not starting after setting in storage for a while. I have no mechanical background, but using your video walked me through the steps and on the second pull the generator fired right up. Hopefully, after Milton goes away, we won’t need it, but if we do, thanks to your video. I do have a working generator again.

Thanks! Solved my problem with the Idle jet. Many other videos showed the other components to check and clean, but yours was the only one that only one that pointed out to clean that small hole. My generator couldn't even start. If it did it was for 1/2 second. cleaned that little jet and ran perfect. VERY THANKFUL since the generator only had 0.9 hrs on it. Maybe I will remove the fuel from it when I store it again.... for 2 years. :-) I did learn a bit more too with the other parts in a carb too!

You might be able to get friendly with your local dentist and ask for a No 6, 8 or 10 K file for endondontics to clean the main jet. They can't be used too much (work hardening) so as long as they've been sterilised after use should be safe. They're made for cleaning our root canals. Inset, twist and pull to remove debris. My Honda rt5000 tractor with the GX engine dumps fuel from bottom of carb when I’m cranking it. Is this a case of the rubber plunger tip? Also spark plug was wet, and there was even fuel in the plastic intake that connects to the carb. Thanks for the detailed video.

FYI I learned the hard way why not to use gasoline with ethanol. My pressure washer powered by a Honda small engine wouldn't start because the carburetor was all gummed up and beyond repair. Once I found the model number and serial number I searched the internet for replacement parts. Prices varied significantly as well as parts that were engine specific. In order to take the guess work out of the equation I found Honda's Engine Parts website. @t I was easily able to look up parts for my specific engine and serial number. It was great! Diagrams of each component of the engine were clearly labeled with prices below. IMO prices were better than anything I was able to find on the internet plus I knew it was the correct part(s). Honda should clearly state on their engines to use ETHANOL free gas only!
@EliminatorPerformance4 жыл бұрын
Most of them say no e85 (85% Ethanol) or to only use e10 and nothing higher. Thanks for watching!
