Honda HRN216 VKA Lawn Mower Operation

My 25 year old Lawn Boy finally died. I just bought this mower bc Honda has never done me wrong with their cars.

Came to this comment because I'm in the same boat. My parents bought the old house in 92 and with it a Lawn Boy Silver Series to replace a rusty reel mower. It still runs SO MANY YEARS LATER but burns a ton of oil and sputters at idle. I gave it to my friend who's been on hard times and just got the hrn. Very happy with it

This is my first Honda mower and it will be the last from Honda. After just one cut on leveled yard of a two year-old house with no tree in the yard, except from some flowers, and the oil started leaking out slowing. It leaked onto the blade cover as well as underneath it. I called Honda and was told the mower has to be registered in their system for a week in order for them to determine if it's under warranty or not. They also said that I have to pay for the inspection by their authorized shop.

​@@Carlos.Rivera tilting the mower to the oil side won't cause an issue as it says it in most manuals, just be aware to disconnect spark plugs/close the fuel lines. Looks like this other comment was about their issue and wondering why it would leak oil

My Toro mulches better and leaves a cleaner cut. I wish I would have got another Toro. The Honda runs great though, so far. Can I use the blades for a HRX for the HRN? It seems those blades lift the grass up better. I'm not as impressed as I thought I'd be with going by the reviews of the HRN216.

I bought one. it doesnt collect. make sure grass isnt wet, and theres a spray you can spray underneath to prevent grass stick

Question please: re. smart drive lever.. it I hold it part-way to full deflection, aren't I effectively riding/slipping a clutch mechanism? My honda dealer told me to hold it fully open only (I'm not sure).

These comments are starting to worry me that I might have bought a piece of junk lawnmower I haven't even gotten out of the box and I'm wondering if I should return it this mow costs $760 with the extended warranty and from reading these comments it sounds like I should have checked the reviews of this company before buying the product I don't want a lawnmower lm going to have issues with everytime it time to cut the grass

You have to push the throttle just alittle, And it will go the right speed.

He visto por ahi que Honda saco o suspendio la venta de estos modelos de mercado, porque venian con un problemas en la biela de valvulas, creo, que hacia que en el arranque no dejaba salir la admision de gases, y eso requeria mucha fuerza al tirar de la cuerda de arranque, ud sabe algo de eso? gracias, saludos

How do I make it cut higher than the highest settings? Bigger wheels? I dont think they exist. This mower cuts crass too short, even on highest wheels settings. Short grass drys and dies. need tall grass

Usually because there’s debris that gets lodged in the slots where the bag sits

My grass bag constantly falls off the little bracket area. Any little bump I hit or when I turn, it falls off..anyone else notice this?

Yes. I figured out the plastic bag holders to the metal frame is the reason. When you put the bag on, kind of spread the plastic bag holder on the right and left side outwards and it will seat properly. Else, the bag is barely held on to those slots and it bumps out when your lawn mower goes through a bump. Over time the plastic holders will seat in that position.

Also should check for old grass clippings in the discharge old grass clumps will stop the positioning from mulch to bag or vice versa take off the bag and clean out the discharge out port
