honda ht3813 air filter replacement oil and transmission fluid change spring tuneup

Well, got the honda ht3813 tractor out and doing the first stages of the spring tuneup. This is my first year with this tractor and I want to make sure its 100 percent and ready to go for the summer. This video has the oil and oil filter change (including the new substitute oil filter), rear transmission oil change (uses the same oil as the engine) and air filter change. I will be changing the antifreeze and adding a coolant temperature gauge at the same time probably in the upcoming weeks.

Wise man says make sure fill plug comes loose on gearbox before taking out drain plug or you will have a gearbox with no oil :)

Whatever oil you are running in the engine is the same for the transmission. I run rotella 15-40w in both my engine and transmission. I don't remember exactly how many quarts but it is about 4 if I remember correctly.

OEM filters are almost always better. You ever cut one open? Honda filters are some of the highest quality. You can usually tell by the weight of the filters. Usually OEM filters have anti-drain back valves and most cheap aftermarket filters do not.

Jwad you too lazy to type out fuck off? The oil wasn’t dirty because there was a good quality filter on there from the last time. Which was my exact point I was making. Try putting a little more effort in, the next time you insult someone asshat.
