Its actually a pretty good practical review. All those professional reviewers tear the car apart and knit pick. It is a fanstastic little car and should last a long time. Its a more youthful car than a Prius in my opinion and there are some after market parts to "pimp it out".

My roommate just bagged one of these for only $3000! When her contract ends in a few months and she moves back to her country, she's going to sell it to me! Can't wait!

WOW the idling rpm is already less than 1000 just after starting the engine, no warm up needed obviously, and it's quite quiet, love it. I think it saved some fuel + emissions already even before you start driving it :).

You're right about Toyota's. They have absolutely no soul or character. Honda's are excellent cars. Honda is the anti-Toyota. Hope you're enjoying your Insight. I'm anxiously waiting for the all new, 9th-generation 2012 Civic to go on sale next month.

Good review, I'm pretty sure you're wrong about the Insight never running on electric only though. It can run on electric only at low speeds, but when it does this the engine itself never shuts off even though no gas is being used. Therefore, it gives the impression that it is still running on gas.

lol i did a really similar video on my insight. I think the personal reviews by regular people make the cars seem more precious and special. good job!

Every review says: it looks a lot like a Prius, but when I look at my Insight I see it looks like my other car, a Citroën C4 VTR. It looks like a lot of other cars too,but it is always compared to the Prius (I know because both are hybrids). When I drove my VTR and saw an Insight, I always tought it was a VTR 'til I got closer (and that's why I choose for the Insight). Now I have to sell my beloved VTR...

@supso6 No it's not. The first generation Insight had a 3 cylinder but this generation has a 1.3 liter 4 cylinder.

I enjoyed the video also. I have been going back and forth, trying to decide which way to go. On one hand I'm leaning towards the Prius, only because the back has more leg room. Knowing my driving habits, I know I can get more than 40 mpg in the city and 43 highway. I'm wondering if Honda will increase the leg room in the insight, have any idea's? Thanks for your comments. You've got me leaning toward the Insight.

Thank you for the review. I have a quick question - does the car make any noise when you start it up? My Prius starts up on the battery and makes no noise at all, this is very important to me, since I like to sneak out at nights. :P

The insight engine is not really a "new" engine. It's the engine that was first released with the Civic Hybrid in 2002 .
