After much debate in the comments section on various videos of mine, I've decided to clarify the differences between the JDM Integra Type S and the USDM RSX Type S (that was causing all the confusion) as well as all the other Integra/RSX models from around the world.

Thanks for the video, well done. I have the 06 Type S now; As a fan boy, I wanted the Type R. Thanks to your video. I no longer mind or want the R. The ride quality in the S is really good, has all the comfort I cared about, and already offers too much performance for the public road. Sometimes you need a good 3rd opinion to appreciate what you have.

I had a DC2r. Sold after 4 months. It was cool - but it was very uncomfortable as my daily driver. It also felt Like i was playing with cheat codes on chasing other cars on public roads. Needed No skill, just too quick for 99% of kids driving around the hills.

Well some places measure fuel octane different. Even though it may be a "higher" number for New Zealand and Japan, the 98 found there can be found as 91 in the USA. Places besides the States use Research Octane Number (RON). USA only uses Anti-Knock Index (AKI). For reference, 97 in Europe is pretty much 91 in USA.

I'm sure a good quality coilover kit like HKS or KW Suspension coilover kit will help with the ride quality. You can adjust your dampeners for the track, and then turn it back full-soft for street driving.
@KiwiCarLife

I want to know what car came with a base K20a and a Rbc-1 Cylinder head. I have a Eco k20a that I've disassembled, the rbc-1 Cylinder head has castings for Lmas on both the intake and exhaust of the head. But it came from factory with No Lmas and junk rockers and cams with single and dual lobes( not true VTEC). I've been told it's the same casting as the Rbc-2 cylinder head that comes on the 06-11 Civic Si. It even had a °50vtc gear on it. Very confusing engine.

@@KiwiCarLife I went to that website and it says K20a-3172551 not k20a3. The k20a2 and k20z1 Cylinder heads are Stamped Prb, not RBC. Let's just say someone did swap the head on this motor that came from a Jdm importer. Then why would they put a base model rocker assembly and Camshafts into the VTEC cylinder head ? I disassembled this motor and all looked to be like factory Honda bond, doesn't look like the motor was ever opened. Even an OEM head gasket.

I'm somewhat surprised at your comments regarding the Type R. I have the 1999 Integra Type R with DC2 motor and have owned it since new (23 years). It is the best car I've ever owned - from a new1971 XY GT Falcon to a Mitsubishi Cordia turbo (a really shit car) - it leaves them all for dead! I'm about to clock 320,000Kms and have never touched the motor, except of course for 2 timing belts, 3 distributors and a couple of clutches - less than $10,000 over 23 years!The car seems to perform better every day and even though it's not as quick as most turbo cars, it still retains a lot more character. This car is a masterpiece in the era of naturally aspirated engines. In the many dozens of KZbin clips of this car, you are the first to criticise it. The comfort and performance is perfect, so I can't agree with your comments. Furthermore, this car is now skyrocketing in price, but I simply can't part with it - it has given me great pleasure for 23 years and probably many more years to come!

Annnnnd some of this information is wrong. The facelift happened for 05-06 models. Also, the ITR started production in 01 in Japan. Europe DID get the DC5 ITR. I have bought parts from dealers and scrap yards over there. Also some of this information is opinionated. If you don't like the seats or suspension, thats fine. But I would advise not telling people that dailying an ITR will make them hate it. That's just not true. You just don't like it... and that's okay as well. And I love those Recaros. They are very comfy to me. Yet again, another comparison video that just doesn't get it. :(

AAAAAAAND once again someone from a different market is just trying to tell everyone that their country is the only country on earth. I can only speak for what we get here in New Zealand (which is NZDM cars and JDM imports). The first lot of facelift cars were built in late 2004 in Japan, so some of the facelift imports we get here are 04's. I said in the video production began in 2001 so not sure what the issue there is. The DC5 was not sold as a UKDM car in Europe, the cars you're seeing at scrap yards are JDM imports. The video was only speaking to places where it was sold new. Finally, I owned a Type R and found the seats deeply uncomfortable to the point where it gave me lower back problems. Just because you have a different opinion does not mean I am wrong and am not entitled to an opinion.

@@KiwiCarLife Sorry dude but your video is inaccurate in multiple areas. And how the heck do you know where I live anyways? And if you are just gonna talk about your knowledge from New Zealand, are you not contradicting yourself as ONE CAR MARKET that thinks they are right as well?? The DC5 WAS sold in Europe. Go look at Tegiwa Motorsports; a UK motorsports website! They sell the parts for them! I have a MOMO steering wheel from one of their UK cars. And obviously.... you have some emotional things going on here because I SAID it was okay twice if you had a differing opinion. So don't go off on me like I'm not allowing you to have a difference of opinion. What I'm on you about, is that you are stating your opinion as a matter of fact. In an unofficial..... and an inaccurate review for that matter, you can't do that. This is why there is so much misinformation out there about cars; people talking with the opinions as matter of fact, rather than phrasing things so people can understand the difference of opinion VS fact. I mean for F's sake... I daily a "bone jarring" DC5 myself... and I'm fine with it and I DON'T hate it. You said I WOULD hate it. Do you understand what I mean? So if you can only speak for what you get in NZ... don't speak for the rest of the world. Your video is not correct in multiple areas and I know it isn't, otherwise I wouldn't have taken the time to comment or reply to your comment after mine. And finally... you left out a TON of stuff that could have been used for more examples of how the cars differ. I did like how you pointed out that the Aussie region didn't get Brembo's. Not a lot of people know that. But this video needs an overhaul and you could include a lot more dude. I'm not trying to be an elitist cock-sucker here. Maybe I coulda come off nicer. But I'm just telling you straight... some of this information is wrong. Correct it, and you're good to go. **shrugs**

@@Scott_Mericle I'm sorry mate, you clearly didn't watch the video. At the end I very clearly state the differences between the AUDM, NZDM and USDM Type R's (and Acura RSX Type S) vs the JDM Type R and one of the things I clearly mentioned was the Brembos. Watch the video again before you make stuff up pretending I omitted information. I was merely sharing my experience with the car. I loved everything about it as a weekend car, but I needed it as a daily and it gave me back problems. That is a "testimony" not a fact. And again, the DC5 was not sold new in the UK. Just because people stock parts for it over there does not mean the car was sold new. There are plenty of outlets that stock parts for the Accord Euro R over here too. But was that sold new in NZ? No. Same situation over there. They are all imports. The only thing you can come back at me about is my opinion about the seats. All other information I have debunked. Just Google it and you will see. I work for Honda, I've owned about 15 of them so don't argue with me about the facts. Opinions sure, facts no.

Where is it wrong, you said production started in 01, I said that, you said the facelift came out in 05, when it plainly didn't (at least in Japan), you said I didn't mention that the non JDM Type R's didn't have brembo's, when I plainly did, you said the DC5 has to have been sold new in Europe because some aftermarket parts stores sell parts for it, when it plainly wasn't. I cannot fathom how my video is wrong. You're just triggered because I said not to buy a DC5 Type R as a daily. That is an opinion based on experience, not a fact and if you disagree that is fine. But I am allowed to say what I want about a car. Go ahead and put in the effort and make your own video that is "correct" rather than making petty comments demonstrating your incompetence to the world.
