I have had the HEV Style Jazz for over 2 years and just love it. So quiet and smooth, with a light foot accelerating to motorway speed there is none of the harsh engine revs that reviewers moan about. My average mpg has been 61.7. My last Honda was an S2000 which I kept for 19 faultless years and sold for a great price. Honda make fine cars.

Thanks for the in-depth review as well as the infotainment video. I test drove one just before Christmas and ordered it on the spot. This will be my third Honda Jazz, they are amazing cars. So reliable, and the magic seats are a godsend if you have a lot of gear to move.

Don't forget to show how those Magic seats lock by pushing down the support bar. The main issue we have is the lane sensing system which switches on every restart - in the UK our narrow roads drives the system crazy and you always have to indicate when switching lanes. We've got the cancel operation down to about 8 seconds now. Love the B mode driving. We're getting over 70 in mixed driving and even over 100 on some journeys. Brake hold is at least a button and we always press it.

Thanks for the walkthrough - good useful info 👍 We’ve own a second generation Jazz and two third generation Jazzes, and after a brief hiatus with a Hyundai suv, looking forward to test driving the current Jazz next weekend - can’t wait! A word to Honda marketing and KZbin reviewers alike, in all that ten years of Jazz ownership, bearing in mind we’re keen gardeners, we’ve never carried an ornamental ‘lollipop’ bay tree in the magic seat floor space lol 😂

All full hybrid systems are classed as Self charging as they don’t need to be plugged in. Also the power output on this model is 120bhp. Good review though!

Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video. Just two notes: - Norway has concluded that the term 'Self-Charging-Hybrid' is not allowed to be used. However, in the UK the ASA has deemed it not against the standards. - Any mention of power output in this video is based on information provided by Honda UK.

It pisses me off that they killed the Honda Fit in NA. This is the perfect car for affordability and reliability.

I really cannot see what is wrong with Honda marketing it as a self charging hybrid. There are only two types of hybrid currently available, those that you have to charge and those you don't and the Jazz is one of the latter type. So, if you don't have to charge it, by definition it must be self charging. Also being a hybrid it seems to me common sense that it is not solely an electric vehicle, but has a second power source, which in the case of the Honda automatically charges the battery, so I cannot believe anyone would buy a Jazz and imagine that the battery would not have to be charged at all. Anyway, regardless of all this, the Jazz in my opinion is amazing, so good in fact I have just ordered mine. Also a really good review.

The reviewer say's there is no clutch but there is. Up to a certain MPH the engine is generating electricity to power the motor for the drive and to top up the battery but at a given speed and when your heavy footed the engine rev's will increase and a clutch will be hydraulicly engaged and the engine will drive the wheels directly.

The Honda jazz is the first hybrid car I’ve own.. currently getting 66.9/67 mpg. I’ve had diesel cars for years. Yes it’s not a racing car…it’s a practical persons car. Does what it says on the tin! Only downsides are limited warranty from Honda unless you pay extra. Two years compare to others that offer 5years. And its purchase price puts it up against more premium cars with good rep and reliability. Like the Golf and t-roc and Tiguan ouch!

Thanks John, the Jazz is a fantastic car, super practical, good MPG - definitely one we would recommend 👍

I have a Crosstar and no problems feeling bumps in the road, maybe the Sport model driven here has bigger whhels and firmer suspension? Also as said by others noise isn't an issue once you get to know how to drive the car, ie don't plant your foot to the floor!

The boot protector that your having a hissy fit over is an accessory, it doesn’t come as standard.

Looks like a great car. Why USB-As in the front though, already a dated format, should all be USB-Cs. Also, shame there's no sunglasses mount in the ceiling, should be a no brainer for all cars.

There is no cvt whine as there is no gearbox or even a cvt in the car. You just hear the engine rev up as it generates elec power

Is swift better value for money than jazz ?
@Winnie-the-Pooh-jk3bt7 ай бұрын
The Swift (new model due soon in UK) is about £5k cheaper, but the Jazz has a higher spec: high tech e:HEV engine, magic rear seats, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, heated mirrors, soft touch plastics inside, electronic handbrake, full digital display. Plus the Honda has more power and performance. Both should give you 60+mpg. New Swift at 1695mm is narrower than current Swift, almost identical to the Jazz ... great for city driving and narrow country lanes. You decide which is better value for money.

@@Winnie-the-Pooh-jk3bt thanks but what would you chose
@Winnie-the-Pooh-jk3bt7 ай бұрын
@@Bambotb I'd go for the Swift and save money. I don't need all the gadgets and tech, or the performance. I test drove a Gen 3 model Swift recently and it was great fun. Light steering, good visibility, nippy enough for me, should be reliable and has seven-year warranty if you have it serviced at the dealer each year.

@@Winnie-the-Pooh-jk3bt yeah true specially wuth the size, what about swift vs i20 ?

I think cvt and in particular the honda transmission so much better than these dual clutch automatics, i do not understand why having an engine rev higher when you want more power is so upsetting to the motoring press, using a generator to power the drive electric motor is so clever and economical, a wet multi plate clutch conects the engine to the wheels at higher speeds reducing power loses, personally I thing this is the best aystem available.

Doesn't it use batteries? Bet they're a nightmare for replacement..... Also the brake by wire system failure scandal.. ?
