Honda Lawn Mower Repair/Service/Restoration

The lawn mower is Honda HRB 476C SXE 160CC
I decided to have another lawn mower and I bought this mower with 20$,the seller told me that he last used it 7 years ago and has been in the garage ever since.I bought an extra engine to keep it for spare parts because spare parts for Honda are expensive and saved me a lot of money:carburetour,crankshaft,piston,ignition coil,etc which are expensive parts.Apart from what was seen in video,I fixed it deck height adjustment,clutch cable and kill switch.I replaced the clutch bearing with a new one because the old bearing was seized.

You cleaned the main jet, but not the emulsion tube on the video. That may have caused some slight surging.

At 7:45, how has the Isopon body filler repair held up? The right side of my Honda HRX217 mower deck has worn through from years of grass and debris circulating under the mower deck, and I have been thinking about trying this kind of car body repair. I am the original owner, but the Honda "lifetime warranty" for the NeXite mower deck only applies to defects of materials or workmanship. When I purchased the mower, I mistakenly thought it covered any failure of the mower deck.

How did you fix the deck height adjuster? I have same problem on roller deck version.. pull lever and nothing

Maybe you have some problems with that spring from under deck,check there for rust or that big washer is dropped, or press hard on the deck and pull the Lever.

Alex, I have a Honda HRB475 that that the gearbox pulley has failed, I’ve replaced the pulley but the tension spring ( the small spring) is missing, where does it attach to and from , I can’t find any diagram showing this and sadly your video did not show the outer side of the gearbox when you removed it.

What is the gap on the throttle/choke cable @18.43? I am having problems getting mine running, it was only running for 3 secs after pull, i cleaned carb/ALL jets, new fuel, new plug and now it will only run with choke on full, will not run on rabbit/turtle?? I have tried the idle screw at 1/2 turn to 4 full turns out and still the same?? HELP!!!!

Congratulations on the video! To adjust the valve clearance (0.15mm intake and 0.20mm exhaust) how do you find the top dead center in the flywheel? or do you use another method? Thank you
