For a free D shaped tool for the pilot screw get a spent .22 LR or magnum case and dent one side a little. Once you remove the screw you can slot it for a screw driver.

What's the best way to dent the .22 shell without flattening the other side? It's a great hack.

Great video! I tried to mix the air and gasoline in the 2023 Honda NAVI, but the carburetor has a plug on the air valve that I cannot change because it is closed.

Thanks for posting your video. I am having the very same issue on my 2013 Honda TRX 250X quad. Welch plug in the way of the mixing screw on Keihin carb. This might be a stupid question but I was curious why you recommended left fluted drill bits and used the drill in reverse? Aren't the Welch plugs pressed in? I started drilling my Welch plug out and it started spinning in the bore. Dremel tool to the rescue.....

Same problem running really rich here in CA. 33 miles and burned 1/2 tank of gas. Stalls after 5 miles, wont restart till the next day. I have no mechanical skills. Maybe they had to do adjustments to carb for CA compliance and it's not working out well on 1st deliveries? Thanks for the tutorial
@rideordie68862 жыл бұрын
Yes I’m getting 60 miles to a tank right now. I finally got a chance to take it out but now it’s crappy out again so I’ll have to wait to get this thing dialed in, I’m going to change the jets. I have a 90 main jet in, if I can’t dial the carb in better with the richness I’m going to put the 88 main jet in and see if that helps.

What I totally forgot was to count the amount of turns and now don't know what factory setting was. Did you note what the af screw was set at from factory? Thanks again. There is no way I could have done this without your help.

Hey Jeff! That’s awesome and I’m glade it helped. I was thinking of doing a tuning video, but I think with how advanced it is for most of the viewers I didn’t think it was a good idea? What is your elevation where your live?
@jeffmartin61742 жыл бұрын
@RideorDie I'm about an hour and a half east of Toronto, so around 250 feet above sea level. I should be receiving my MNNTHBX intake kit on Monday, so looking forward to getting those jets in. I may go straight to the 90 main like you did and get a muffler shop to weld/fab something onto the stock pipe. I can't imagine holding out for a full system with larger header pipe would produce much/any more power than the stock with an open muffler. I would absolutely be interested in a tuner video. Have been noting your info on an O2 sensor. Don't know anything about that, but curious. My main ride is a '20 KTM Duke 790 so don't want to break the bank on my little Navi.
@rideordie68862 жыл бұрын
@@jeffmartin6174 I’m thinking these Navis are set up rich from the Honda so they can get them thru the dealership with no problems? I don’t know but that’s my thought. Also my guy that does exhaust said having the factory header pipe into the aftermarket muffler will push the gas’s out faster then jumping to a bigger pipe, he’s been in the custom fab exhaust world for 40 years. Also I don’t have a o2 sensor I’m going off sound and throttle response but mostly the multimeter Runleader is giving me my rpm reading… I have mine tuned I’m at 922 above sea level here in Minnesota. What I can do when your set up to turn some screws I can count mine and tell you how many turns mines at? But I would get an rpm reader/gauge, harbor freight has a tool if you didn’t want to have a gauge but the Runleader is probably cheaper
@jeffmartin61742 жыл бұрын
