Honda Navi + Milk Crate: How to Mount a Milk Crate on Your Motorcycle

Milk crates are a MUST for any motorcycle. They're so utilitarian that it's hard to have a bike without one. That Navi looks badass with it. If I had a Hayabusa, I'd probably throw a milk crate on it 😅🤠

Clearly I agree. 😂 I have a milk crate on my Honda dual sport, too. The nice thing is they are only on the bike when I'm using them. With the rubber tarp straps, the go on and off in about a minute.

I use exact crate able to carry groceries, even gallon of milk this works perfect.. scooters are a great way to get around I even drive mine to work spend 8$ a week in gas. Let people laugh if they want SCOOTERS ARE THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY TO GET AROUND

Couldn't agree more! …scooters, electric bikes… We should be designing our transportation systems around these vehicles, not SUVs. My next toy will be a Honda Trail 125, and then maybe an electric bike/motorcycle of some kind.

Best part, it is easily removed without tools, yet very secure. And you could add bungies across the top to secure whatever you put inside it. I've had really good luck with this setup, and I use it a lot.

good deal for loads that fit in box. i have a scooter with a bicycle rack on top of the too small rack. added a large nylon zip bag with straps, hauls most anything.

Want to hard mount a top box on mine with bolts it'll be tough with how small the rear rack is

Have you seen the rear rack in person though? The plastic top surface is easily removed, revealing a metal plate with holes in it. You can then have an additional metal plate fabricated to join them up. That second metal plate could be made to work with whatever hard box you want to use. Should be a breeze for a local machine shop. I can imagine having a piece like that made for 20 bucks. Just get the rear rack if you don't have it already, get the hard box that you want, and then figure out how to join them up. Should work.

I bought the one in this video at Target. It's more of a "fashion milk crate," and looks cool, but it not as strong. …but strong enough? For a more commercial/industrial milk crate, try the one I got on Amazon.com at amzn.to/47y3dhN

what about just drilling through the plate on the rack and putting 4 bolts with fender washers on each side?

You certainly could do that. I was looking for a non-destructive solution. I like to keep my bike and all of its accessories in mint condition. But now that you mention it, you could take the plastic cosmetic cover off the rack (just a couple of bolts), drill through the metal plate underneath, use it that way, and, when you're not using it that way, cover the metal plate back up with the plastic cover, and no one will see the holes. I still like my approach if you're looking for a quick on-and-off solution that doesn't require tools each time you add/remove the crate.

🤓question would a larger one be good to ride with when turning Got one duffel bag and wanna take my bike to my job for wild land fires and just need it to take one trip down o the meet up spot with all my stuff taking the car wast so much gas 😞and gotta leave it behind for the fam What’s the biggest crate you would recommend for the Navi

I would recommend a standard size square milk crate. It is a standard. What I show here is actually a light construction milk crate. They are usually a little beefier and slightly taller. I would not go bigger than that.

Sure can! Just make sure your crate is big enough. These crates come in larger sizes, not just standard milk crate size. Also, you could always crate out of plywood to make sure it is exactly the size you need.
