Alex... you are an inspiration. I also own an NC700X-DCT... easily my favorite bike to date. Ive ridden nearly 500000 miles- 800000Km on a lot of different motorcycles.. This is the one Ive kept the longest, For all the same reasons you say.I ride a lot..17000 miles last year alone. I am an old man so Im looking at the new goldwing tour with the DCT as my NC replacement...but with the world falling apart that will have to wait. So for now I will enjoy getting 4.3/100 and know my money is well spent. Thanks so much for doing this in English as my German friends are in Germany so no translator. And my Russian friends are always busy working. Keep doing what you do and know there is an American watching where you go with a big smile!

No one should be hard on you because of your (excellent) English! From what I can gather watching your KZbin videos, you're from Kyrgyzstan and live in Germany. Brilliant review of a fantastic bike (in perfect English👍) . As a returning rider I was looking at used bikes until I watched your videos (and NC750X Stuff). I then realised that I could get a new NC for only slightly more than the second hand bikes I was looking at. Like you I have replaced the seat and fitted the fender extender. I have also fitted lower footrests due to my very long legs. The bike is perfect for me and does everything I want. The only thing remaining than I do not like is the horn switch position. I have only wanted to use the horn a couple of times in 5000 miles and I missed the button both times. Maybe I need to sound my horn more often ? Having unsuccessfully tried the Puig touring screen I am now thinking of fitting a shorter screen so the wind blast hits my chest rather than straight in the face. It is the mark of a good bike that you have owned 4 of them ! Best wishes.

What a great video. Your comparisons to the alternatives are spot on! I tested the same VStrom, Tracer, etc. Beforehand, all I'd read had me set on a VStrom and ignored the NC, but the dealer persuaded me to test an NC as well. After which I feel EXACTLY like you about the other two. VStrom good, Tracer plasticy and rattled a lot, NC so much better. Versys felt much taller and unappealing. You've mentioned all the things like bearings that the other reviews don't but are important to know. I chose a DCT and added the footshift kit. Did you have DCT on one of your other NCs? If so, how do compare them? I've been riding 45 years (I'm older!). Had lots of big bikes for many years. The NC is a real surprise and as you say, you need to ride one. Big bike riders will be surprised to come down and find such a refreshing, nimble, quick bike. Please do more videos. Thank you.

Thank you for your comment, I think it will help some people who are coming from big bikes or deciding between Vstrom, tracer and versys:) I have the manual NC but I only hear good things about the DCT and I think it`s great that Honda offers such cool innovations in this bike segment :) ride safe and stay healthy

A friend of mine suggested he was thinking of purchasing this bike as a downgrade, he has also had a v-strom 650 as well as other bigger bikes and he is a seasoned rider. He said the NC750 would be an excellent first bike for me as a 57yr old late starter to motorcycling once passing my test. I had been looking at the versys 650, v-strom 650 and also the Suzuki sv650 which I'm told is a great bike to start on but have now been reviewing NC750 and watched many videos and I think you have done a great job in giving a very informative review of the bike. Your accent is fine. Accent reveals where you are from but as long as the words are enunciated clearly, we can understand you; so, your video works fine! Really thankful for sharing your experiences to help others. Questions: - For longer trips, I'm sure you'd agree that eventually, you will have to touch some highways along the way. Does this bike vibrate too much at highway speeds? - Which tires would you recommend for touring and some occasional gravel roads riding?
@MrMegaPerez3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you :) I don’t think this bike vibrates to much on the highway. I never had an issue with this. My favorite tires for 80/20 are Continental TKC70 and I made a video about them already (will put a link below). If you only ride on asphalt than the Michelin Pilot Road 5s are a good option or the 4s Here is the review about the TKC70 kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWO5YoChjtZmoNE

Hi Alex, great video as always, I agree with you on all points, I only have 27000 with my 2016 X DCT on the dashboard and the same experiences as you. The simplicity and low maintenance costs are top, I also do my service and repairs myself. I also agree with the likes and dislikes, but with the dislikes I would also mention the LED headlight, because, as my biker colleagues always say, it is poorly seen by other road users during the day. I have also done a test drive with the Africa Twin, but as you said, the NC is an inexpensive machine for me, which you can use to go shopping, work or go on a longer tour. Dear GeoAlex, thanks to this video you have one like and one subscriber more. :) This is the best NC review that I saw and you win the bulls eye point with pros and cons and comparison with others. And don't bother yourself with your English level. It is very good. (there is no need for everything in life to be perfect :D) I had different types of bikes in my life and two of those were V-Strom 650 2005 and V-Strom 1000 2014. But because I was driving like a mad man, I want to go back to 650 or NC 750X (that is the reason why I am watching reviews) and I really don't know what to do, which one to buy? :( Honestly, Strom 650 is awesome bike, but I like the NC DESIGN, tank trunk, lower consumption, LED, simple maintance (I did valve cleareance adjustmen by myself on V-Strom 1000 and it is complicated). Agility in the city (this is almost like a scooter and practical for every day ride) And at last, I like Honda

eclipsespajder hey 👋 thanks for your nice comment :) There is a little difference in power between the Vstrom and the NC. The Vstrom feels a little bit stronger especially after 120km/h but it also feels more “top heavy”. Good clear review. As an owner I agree with everything you said. It will be interesting to see what the rumoured mid range Africa Twin is like based on the NC engine at the end of this year. I would like better front brake, a more comfortable stock seat, and a TFT display. Sometimes if the light is wrong I can’t read the current display, mostly winter sunlight. I also would like ambient temperature to be shown. And maybe a little bit more power. It will be interesting to see what the Euro 5 version of the engine is like.

Wonderful review!... bravo - extra points for explaining your accent and your personal origins (apologies not necessary)... of course I already love this bike... I needed an economic commuter bike - have own much bigger (Gold Wings)... but after only 2,000 miles on my new (2018 model bought in 2020 - because I don’t like the newer colors). I am very pleased with my choice I’m 66, California professor - thinking I have fewer years to enjoy riding... if this is my only and last bike... I ride happy... you confirmed that... but a 600 mile day in the saddle - probably not.... I see 50,000 mile Honda Valkyries for $3,600 ... so clean out my garage for one of those... - but if you only can have one bike - this one is a winner... you nailed it!

And this professor can tell, from your explanations and dialogue - you have a guest room and use of my bike in California, whenever life gets back to normal.. cheers

Hallo, thank you for this nice feedback (even more special if it comes from a professor) and thank you for the generous offer🙏 I loved California when I was there a few years ago:) I think you made an excellent choice with the NC and I hope you will enjoy it for many many years. If i remember correctly another thing that changed is that they heightened the fuel cut-off so it could take more revs.

Yes but if I remember right they did it from 2018 model, they also add traction control (mine is from 2016)

Hi Alex, are you making all the repairs and maintenance by yourself or official honda service? Unfortunately, the maintenance intervals are per 6000km in Turkey due to unfair marketing strategy.
@MrMegaPerez4 жыл бұрын
Mesut Ayvalı yes I’m doing everything by myself:) it’s very easy on this bike and you don’t need to be a mechanic. Check out this channel “Honda NC750X Stuff” it’s a great help for maintenance :) This bike doesn’t need a service every 6k

@@MrMegaPerez Yes, I'm big fan of that channel which shows almost all the maintenance. But my motivation was to extend the guarantee period of my bike while going to the official service. Now, I'm in the dilemma to do by myself or not to do. :)

Was meinst Du? Kannst Du die Sitzbank von SHAQ empfehlen, ist sie komfortabler und höher? Viele sagen ja, man rutscht auf der Seriensitzbank immer nach vorn, ist das so? Vielen Dank!!
@MrMegaPerez4 жыл бұрын

Hi, I am riding a 2012 NC700X with about 160k on it, not going to upgrade my bike unless Honda upgrades the front wheel to 19inch for the front wheel and I wish Honda would have the the fuel cap outside, not under the rear seat.

Hi Alex . Nice review.. I am thinking to buy the NC750X but I don’t know way I am hesitant.. I am thinking between NC750 &BMW750 hope I can make the right decision Any way I am 164CM Do you think the Honda will be good for my tall ? And thank you for the review again
@MrMegaPerez4 жыл бұрын
abdoul24216 hey 👋 All I can suggest is to take both of the bikes for a test ride. Just tried the 700gs650gs and I disliked it more that the NC, the 800gs/850gs is a different story (for example the 21” tire). It’s a real (heavy) enduro. It’s perfect if you ride deep off-road most of the time... Just check them out both and make your own opinion :)
@abdoul242164 жыл бұрын
To be honest with you.. I like the Honda more because I am not that much off-roader.. so do you think the Honda is good for me .. I am 164CM tall

I had several BMW bikes over the years and they were good but servicing was expensive. My last BMW was an F 800 ST which has the rear tank like the NC, but it has a side filler which is more convenient. However I always ended up riding the BMW too fast, and I wanted a more comfortable sit up position. I have the DCT 2017 model bought in early 2018. With DCT you can use all of the power the NC has, very easily because the gear changes are so fast. Or you can open the throttle gently and the bike will roll on through the gears easily keeping the revs low and saving fuel. It’s a great bike for relaxing on back roads. I raised the front of the stock seat and have a gel seat on top. I also fitted Michelin Road 5 at 8K miles and the bike handles really well with them. I also added daytime running lights vertically down the sides of the radiator after seeing a post on the UK NC700 forum site. Oxford heated grips are great too. The NC is better on regular roads than highways and motorways. It will keep up with cars going fast on the motorways but it is more fun on twisty 2 lane roads where it is powerful enough to overtake most vehicles. The Africa Twin for 2020 is more exciting but nearly twice the price and you are carrying a much bigger engine around that you can’t use all of the power day to day without breaking the law. The NC is a really well balanced bike for long term use.

Steve Bolton hi, thanks for your feedback about the NC compared to other bikes 👍 I think this will help many people with their decision:)

Hi Alex. I have a small (rather big) issue with the NC. I have just picked up my NC from the dealer, and while im happy with it, during braking-in the engine i decided to go up to 4000rpm until 600km, and than a liittle more up to 1kkm (first service). And everything was fine until i exceed this 600km and 4000rpm. Above that rev some very stron vibrations appear specialy on the footpegs. Does every NC have this vibrations above 4000rpm? Quite annoying thing. I was thinking maby some crashbars or somerhing like that problem. I have almost the same add-ons on my bike like you without skidplate. I would by grateful for tour opinnion on this issue. Cheers, and stay safe!!
@MrMegaPerez4 жыл бұрын
dziamacz no this doesn’t sound „normal“ the bike should work perfekt after the 1k. I don’t have this issues. What does the dealer say? You still have Garantie right? The dealer shouldering it. Are you on Facebook? Maybe it’s better to ask in our group there because there are a lot of people maybe somebody had the same problems. The name of the group is „ Homda NC750X owners group“
