I had the same problem plus that I could not remotely lock the doors on my Honda CR-V 2002. I disconnected the battery and left it for 36 hours or so and reconnected it and the problem with the flashing green light was gone. The remote locking also worked after that. Thanks for sharing!

FFS, thanks for being super long winded and not actually giving any real fix. "i have no idea what's going on here" yeah me either my dude, thanks for the click bait. >:/

You’re welcome, I have no idea why it started and then wouldn’t start after I drove it out to the street. But I do know it started after I removed the battery and got it charged up. No click bait intended, sorry my experience was no help to you.

I get it...tho this didn't really offer a fix. You just eventually let the battery die, charged it and then said that fixed it. But whyd it die there at your house in a few days time..point is the issue I'd imagine is still there and you'll prolly here from this person again at some point because they have this issue or the battery is dead or slow cranking

Morgan on the job again! I had some auto repair last week,my son and I installed an intake manifold on my 1999 olds 88. Repair was relatively simple and the car is in mint condition. 65,000 original miles.

Had this problem. 2000 accord lx. Car came with a key that had no key fob no chip. It started just fine when I first got it then one day after installing a new battery then letting it sit I got the green key symbol. Tried to fix it on my own got pissed off left it in the driveway for about 8 months. One day I decided to throw the battery on charge hoping that miraculously it would " Just start'' and it did. I don't have a clear answer as to why it behaved like this but it has something to do with the battery change then charging the battery once again.. 🤨

It was that simple with my 2015 Honda Fit. Five minutes disconnected restored normal, getting rid of the flashing green key dashboard light and letting me use it again. Had got distracted talking about parking and left the automatic in drive while I had lunch. After that car would turn over but not run. Stupidity, natural and artificial. Thanks, Honda, for turning it into a big deal without telling me

My jeep of the same era does some really really wierd stuff when it has a low battery. I've also heard that touching the battery cables together after they are disconnected discharges any residual magic electric pixies stuck in the wires. Who knows!

Same happened with my girlfriends 06 civic lx...i just jumped the battery then drove to autozone and bought a brand new battery...fixed the issue.if green key light stays flashing when key is turned two times over then its the fuse but if it flashes then stops its the battery...your welcome

Have you heard back from this person, did their battery stayed charged?
@WildWestGarage3 ай бұрын
@@pumpkinspicelatte1731 I haven’t. The battery ran down with all the attempts to start. I removed the battery for charging because that was the easiest option as the vehicle was parked quite aways from my shop. I guess having the battery disconnect for a long period of time gave the computer the time it needed to shut down and fully reset. If you are having trouble keeping your battery charged there may be a problem with your alternator, battery or something drawing power. A quick fix for a power draw issue would be to install a night switch on the ground side of the battery.

There must be a capacitor in the system that takes a long time to discharge its memory fault. At least you know what to do the next time. Some times a simple fault can be reset with an inexpensive OBD code reader.
