Hi everyone welcome to the Second video in my Honda NX500 Adventure Motorcycle Series where I give more first impressions on the NX500 I purchased for dad and I to share as dad goes through his stage 3b/4 prostate cancer treatment
I absolutely love the Honda NX500 for those that have watched our previous video you will have seen that we moved from the Yamaha Tenere 700 to the Honda NX500 the Honda NX500 is working out to be the perfect fit for our idea of adventure motorcycling isn’t it just so amazing the options and choices we have for overland and adventure motorcycles so many possibilities and different options both for adventure and the motorcycle itself.

After 20 years of GS (1150 and 1200) ownership, I sold up 2 months ago and bought an NX. I was fed up of the weight and high running costs, plus I realised I was never going to go to Mongolia. I absolutely love the NX. Enough power, great handling and better for my back. Can't get enough of it. Who knows, I might even go to Mongolia on it!

@@Jorrocks1703 glad you are enjoying Jorrocks they are a really fun bike arnt they I’m still an 1150gsa owner at the moment currently selling her after putting 2670 into her to sort all the previous owners problems, as we downsize our house if I could I’d still keep the 1150 as it’s a good compliment bike I think as a classic adv :) having said that I also ride a 1927 Norton flat tanker so I do like the older bikes and spannering as well. I hope you enjoy the other videos I’m really happy still that we let the Tenere go for the Nx 500 much much better bike for our usage. An it’s got dad riding again which has been very emotional to watch an why not :) I was speaking to someone on one of the NX groups who had gone through Egypt on there’s absolutely awesome to hear

What's stopping you from going to Mangolia, NX is more than capable of that trip, more power n more weight is just a myth. Itchy Boots You Tube channel is doing world trip on a humble Honda 250cc bike.

Just bought mine, great to see your nice video. I pick mine up tuesday. The dealership wanted me to bring it home yesterday but when we finished the deal i didnt have any protective gear. Save riding. I must add that im coming from a Honda Monkey which is so fun but sometimes i needed a little more speed. Never getting rid of that one. My wife wanted me to sell it but i was like no no.

Had a Honda 250 super dream when I was younger very reliable so when I returned to motorcycles after. Twenty years break I purchased the 2020 cb500x normal front forks single disc.4 years on still loving the bike great for commuting good touring bike with soft luggage. Looked at other bikes but this bike is hard to beat. This new model could well be the replacement as don’t need anything more heavy,use more fuel,and would like a road bike but some of our roads in Australia are gravel so this type of bike is ideal.

I traded a tuareg 660 in for the nx .the aprilla off-road was amazing, but the parts and servicing cost was frightening

These small capacity bikes make sense cheap insurance,low tax and good fuel economy plus with the state of the roads in this country potholes and speed cameras everywhere

@@timothybrockbank7474 thanks for commenting Timothy I really agree you can actually enjoy the bike a lot as she works at all legal road speeds. In many ways it’s a bit like the 1150 in that respect as that was geared in a similar way without all the endless power of the new 1300gs which you just don’t need on our roads now.

How do you think it would cope with a pillion

@@timothybrockbank7474 I guess it all comes down to expected speeds. That’s probably where the bigger bikes like the 1150gsa etc all come handy with the extra pulling power when loaded up. Would be worth you getting a test ride I’d say to try with a pillion if you are thinking of that I don’t have pillion insurance so can’t try that out unfortunately

​@adaptableadventurerider it's not even the speed it's how much the engine sounds like it's struggling. I have no doubt the 500 will do 70 with a pillion. But imagine how much less effort the 1150 would have to make..

@@chrishart8548 owning an 1150gsa till she sells with my dads stage 3b/4 prostate cancer and us downsizing our house I wholeheartedly agree Chris the 1150 is such a great long distance fully laden bike would cope two up easily like the 1200s. Nx is a great solo bike especially if you ride it like a 350lc :)

Hi Jubei thanks for the comment you would have to check with your Honda dealer as I’m just an enthusiast that’s bought one :) I will say the standard clutch is unbelievably light I show it in the video that you can pull it in with your pinky, I can understand though how the e clutch could be amazing for people with injuries or disabilities though :)

I have a NX 500 and the seat killing me it's the wors seat in the world lol so i dont know what to do with it or i must sell the bike !!

@@eddale5557 hi eddale how you get sorted how many miles are you doing on it before being unconfortable we did about 200 miles the other day with dad riding it, dads got prostate cancer and finds it ok :) have you looked at seat concepts or a brand like that? Or even one of those netted covers by cool covers maybe? Or an air cushion, it’s no 1150gsa seat which is like a sofa but I didn’t find the seat on the Nx to bad much better than the hellish one on the Himmy, t7 and 300 rally hope you get sorted and let us know how you get one.

I've had mine since March this year. I can vouch that they're grand for all-day comfort. Traded in a T7 for the white version. Only gripe is that Honda Road Sync App doesn't work in Ireland. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gH-0q2R4i5Zke6ssi=XfmX5zy7zDqnc43U

Great info for everyone Harry thanks for sharing :) we also traded in a T7 for ours much better fit for us as dad didn’t like green laning.
