Honda PC50 Moped Restoration - Part 2

In this video I continue my Honda PC-50 Cafe racer restoration project. I focus on the rear of the bike, taking off the seat, shocks and fuel tank.
Its amazing how simple this little bike is. I've taken almost all of it apart now with 3 socket sizes - 10, 12 and 14 mm! You have to love Honda!

Hi ya Tom. Loving the vids. I’m intrigued to see how it all ends up looking and running. I just purchased my first restoration in October 2022. A 1973 pc50k1 in rat grey. I’m a total novice, and I’ve been searching all videos regarding the Honda pc50 for any tips and advice. And now I’ve found yours. I’ve totally stripped my bike, had the handle bars and light bezel re chromed. Everything has now been soda blasted, and now I’m waiting for the weather to warm up a bit to start to re spray it. I will also be opening up the engine to clean it and to teach myself a little on how it all works. I have all new gasket’s when I come to put it back together. Good luck with the project, and as I mentioned, look forward to seeing it finished 👍

Sounds good Daren! I’m in a similar boat. This is the first bike project I’ve taken on so I chose something nice and simple. I’m most likely going to get the frame blasted and resprayed professionally but I’m hoping I can do a couple of bits myself. The next video will be handlebars etc coming off then engine drop and wheels. Not sure I’ll tinker with the engine as it ran nice. I am going to be modding mine a bit and going for a sort of cafe racer style bike. Not one for the purists but it should be fun and a bit different. Thanks for watching and good luck with your too 🙏

I noticed you don’t have a reg plate yet. Did you take it off when you were stripping the body or are you getting it registered atm?

I am hopefully getting it registered yes, I'm just waiting for a certificate of age from Honda at the moment!
