Honda PCX 125 (2021) Thoughts.

Rode these a lot when I lived in Asia. Now that I’m back in the States, they are hard to come by. Scooters aren’t as popular here as they are in Asia & Europe. In fact, I am nervous that Honda will stop selling the PCX in the US…so I am gonna buy one while I still can. I find the Red PCX looks cool, and the Pearl White PCX looks elegant.

Just got mine yesterday, same colour. I rode it all day and just love it, especially the 130 mpg its showing. My only criticism is the screen is too low so a big screen is next.

El Presdidente, Congratulations on your new bike, they are great aren't they!! Totally agree on the screen, when I first purchased mine I also bought a Tall Ermax touring screen and fitted a small wind shield on top, it completely eliminated all wind and buffering no matter what speed I was traveling, extremely peaceful to ride with. At the moment I have a an aftermarket screen that's taller than the original and looks good but you still experience buffeting, I have seen a few very tall screens on eBay for around £100 that I'm looking at.

Do you find the rear suspension is hard? Mine is brand new, but the rear end is brutal over speed humps, even after fairly slow speeds. Front suspension is much softer/better damped.

Nick I am getting one in a couple of weeks. I will need the L plates too as I only have CBT. Is there a bracket to attach the front one to? Also what lock/chain do you use? Mine will be mainly for nipping to the supermarket but not keen on leaving it outside just on steering lock. I'm in W Yorks but have seen vids of thieves in London using battery powered angle grinders to quickly cut through the chains. Gonna go to sportsbikeshop in Leeds to get a lid and some gloves.

Congratulations on your purchase!! You are going to love it. I have an Oxford monster chain on mine, and always use a disc lock and alarm when it's parked up at work. Amazon and Halfords both sell the L plates that come with a bracket to attach to the bottom front side of your PCX. Looks much better than on the screen. @@Nicksurferuk Had it a few days now. Is it just me or is the rear suspension hard as fk ? Speed humps are a nightmare if you value your spine. Wondering if the spring can be softened up a bit ? Also, I've not read the manual yet because I'm a bloke and we don't 'do' instructions as you know, but what is the top button for on the key fob ? Just seems to be flash the hazards ? I know holding the bottom button enables and disables the ignition knob but not figured out what the top one does yet. As for putting lid under seat - that is not guaranteed! Mine is only a medium size but while it fits width wise, it is too tall for the seat to close naturally - and I tried it every possible way. It's only about 1 or 2cm too tall, so the seat will close with a little extra pressure luckily, and of course if your lid is under the seat then you're not going to be sat on the seat riding it, adding extra pressure to it. Was also really surprised how severe the engine braking is on it. I thought something was broken but reading around the forums and reddits, it is apparently completely normal for CVT transmission and the smaller the engine, the more aggressive it is. I hardly need to use the brakes on mine except for the last couple of feet ! After 4 days of up-hill and down-dale across various bits of W Yorks on a mixture of roads, the mpg is showing 136.4 (on standard unleaded) which I'm happy with.

Hiya Matthew, sucks to hear about your Scooter being stolen. My alarm is quite a cheap battery powered alarm that meets my needs, take a look at my other video's and you will see a review of it there, it works really well and is nice and loud.

The screen on this video was £50 from DC Parts. I have since swapped it out for a taller screen, check out my other video's and you will see it.

Hey Patrick, absolutely loads of space under the fairing or under the seat, the one I have from Amazon you can adjust the sensitivity and works pretty well wherever you decide to stick it.

Hiya Marc, I purchased it from Amazon, it's called 'HOMMIESAFE air Motorcycle Seat Cushion', it's both Air and water fillable (for hot days), Currently £25 to purchase from Amazon. It has definitely improved the ride for me and also raises up the seat slightly making the bike better for my long legs 😀

Hi Marc, oh no!! Sorry to hear about your crash, you can get 'most' parts from DC PARTS, they are very quick at responding to questions and their prices are cheaper than most other vendors out there . Good luck getting it fixed.
