the reason it didn't look steep is because the P500 made it look easy nice vid

+Doug Burrell Good point :) It was surprising how well it climbed with the smaller motor.

Great Video because it’s relevant to many of us hunters and fishermen that don’t need or want 1000cc of power or large vehicle size. I’ve owned a Honda foreman 2004 ES for many years until someone stole it. I think I’ll replace with the pioneer 500 because of its size and reliability.

Hi David, This is a great machine for utility and some fun. It probably has the same engine as that Foreman you had! :D. Very reliable.

The P500 didn't seem to strain a bit. Nice video and a beautiful area. Thanks.

+mustang1191 Yea - was not too bad on that sand and apart from the whoops carved onto the trials in that area, it's a beautiful place to quad. Thanks for watching!

I have been enjoying the information of your videos on the Honda Pioneer 500. It appears to be a great little utility with practical fun factor built in, Honda reliability and can fit into a full size pickup bed. Plus the scenery of the great outdoors your covering is great!

Hi Darrell - Cool! You will have to let me know how that new automatic transmutation works out for you! It's a great little machine and I'm sure you will have some fun. Bird hunting is on my list too - Where I hunt in Alberta the ruffed grouse population seems plentiful this year. Best wishes Michael

Michael, my Longramps just came in today so I will now be able to load the Pioneer 500 into my Pick-up that has a 4" rear and 6" front lift. I look forward to testing the vehicle on some Oregon OHV trails in the near future. I have tested it down our quiet street and find the Automatic a positive feature so far. Chukar hunting is my favorite in the Succor Creek and Leslie Gulch area in Eastern Oregon. The birds are fast and terrain is beautiful, almost like a mini-Grand Canyon. Thanks again for your great tutorials filled with information and perspective. Have a great season!

Hi Darrell, thanks for the feedback on the new transmittion. I don't think we have any Chukar partridge in Alberta, they look an interesting bird! Sounds like you are planning some great trips :) I'm glad you found the video's useful - it makes my day when I hear that people enjoy my content! Take care Michael

I think that maybr 2wd (to rob less power) and third gear you would have gone up that climb even faster! Nice videos dude
@TheEmporiumOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
The hill is much steeper than the video shows and was made of sand. It wold have dug the rear wheels in without the 4wd and remember its only a 500cc engine so better to give the engine all the help you can! :) Thanks for commenting!

Did you ever consider/test the Polaris 500/570 ranger? I'm in the market for side by side, but I really need the cargo bed. Thanks for the vid.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
My friend had the 800 Mid-size ranger and now has the 570 full size. They are great machines with more power BUT personally I need something light that I can haul on the back of my truck and I like the 50" - so I have to compromise somewhat. Ranger mid-size has macpherson strut front shock setup - so make sure you drive it first - it's not the best. Dump box is great though. You will be happy with any of the choices you mentioned. Hope that helps :)

This is considered steep where youre from? Its almost laughable
@TheEmporiumOutdoors8 жыл бұрын
+Justin Estep For where I ride it's pretty steep :) It's hard to see on the video but it's close to 40-45 deg incline. For this machine with stock tires it's an adequate test in my opinion. Thanks for watching.
@orthotobi8 жыл бұрын
+Justin Estep its amazing how cameras dont really show how steep angles are. I recently went skiing in the rockies and took pictures of some of the crazy black diamond runs to show how steep they were. Then you look at the pictures and video later and say...wow that just wasnt how it really is
