Honda RVF400R NC35 Pure Acceleration Sound

Another try-out of my video/audio setup. This time with the Honda RVF400R. Please enjoy the little cam gear driven little V4!
This time I'm also using a Telesin ND16 filter on my GoPro with the shutter speed set to 1/120 @ 60fps. The motion blur effects works like it should, but the image gets a bit too blurry in the forresty area. Anyways, happy with the result in the brighter areas.

Audio: Zoom H1N (sandwiched between two thick sheets of foam and stuffed in the tail of the bike, no windmuff)
Audio Settings: 48k/24bit/Lo Cut 120 Hz/limiter off/auto level off/Gain 4

This year on German Autobahn the speedo needle went way down below 180 km/h (virtual around 220 km/h, "let me catch that BMW") put my eyes to the right to the rev counter: 16.000. Ooops!! I Straightened myself up for a braking effect and thought to myself "That was close!". The motor did it without any complaint, though. No worries. As a commenter right here said would be fantastic to achieve a gathering of NC 30/35. In the Netherlands or at the Nürburgring for one lap or five. I live just an hour away from the German/Dutch border in the Cologne area. Btw: I find the VFR 400 even more beautiful than my RVF. Because of the round headlights which remind me of the endurance racers back in the 80`s when we went to Spa 24h and the Ring 8h race. Cheers Luc.

The engines are really indestructible and they don't mind being occasionally revved over the redline. The only reason Honda has made the redline lower is to ensure the bike can manage over 150.000 km without a sweat! They're incredibly reliable for such a small sports bike. I've had a small gathering of NC30/35's in the Netherlands a few months ago. There were only five of them, but that's already more than I've ever seen in my life 😂 That was nothing compared to meetup Hero Superbikes organised in the UK though. There were dozens of them 😍 You should check out his page! To have an equally huge event with riders from the Netherlands, Germany and other countries on the Nürburgring would simply be amazing. I love that idea!

They're hard to come by everywhere outside Asia. I had to be patient to get my hands on this one. Maybe iconicmotorbikesauctions could help you get one in the USA though :)

They exist. My dad has a few VFR 400s, and has seen an RVF 400 before. I own an MC19 myself, super cool bikes. All but one were found in Canada and imported.

Oh but these bikes aren't sold in the Netherlands either, they are extremely rare! There are about 10 that I know of that got here via import. I know there are some in the US too, you just have to know where to look for them 😉

CBR 250RR (MC22) is like high in falsetto if compared to singing or high rpm but thin sounding RVF400 is like muscular sound like ducati ? Or the vibration on your chest while riding it am i right author ?

Correct, the MC22 engine firing order is what they describe as a 'screamer', whereas the NC35's firing order is a 'big bang'. If I were to compare it to opera voices, the MC22 is a soprano and the NC35 a tenor. I would describe a Ducati more as a baritone, as it has an even deeper 'voice' than the NC35. 😊

No, it's not. Check your facts. ALL VFR-models came with V-engine, NOT with inline-engines. VFR 400 may sound like a bike with inline-engine, but it's mostly because of the rather small displacement.

@@micaroneCorrect. VFR/RVF is also literally an abbreviation of V Four Road/Road V Four. The online inline four that has a similar sound would be a Yamaha R1 with crossplane engine, because they both use a big bang firing order.

@@LucHeijnen , marvelous engine, direct cam wheels, can't destroy it.. This bike is made with high precision and the best parts possible by Honda, all for the home market which didn't allow heavier bikes like we know them here. It is the World Superbike replica in 400cc format.., and they didn't repeat this marketing trick again..costs to high..:-) It is a joy to see the compactness and details in it's build, never done again..and it behaves like a Superbike when riding it, neutral steering and at full braking it gives no inch. My advise: keep it and hold it Luc, you will be sorry if you do. Enjoy this marvel. :-)
