A good update this, shame there isn't an option for adaptive cruise to be honest as it's now so complete. The revision to bring in the 6 axis IMU should address the biggest issue I had with the outgoing model; the DCT changing mid corner. I was amazed they didn't put it on this bike when they introduced it on the Africa Twin because it absolutely solves one of the biggest bug bears with DCT. Bizarrely the NC750X, which didn't have the IMU never really did it if you were in Sport 1 or 2, but the AT did, until they fitted the 6 axis IMU. For those put off with the DCT, you get used to them really quickly, and if you want it in manual mode then it's one of the best quick shifters you've ever used.

Shaft drive would be great, but belt would be a good improvement over chain
@cookinsdabestАй бұрын
Then people would buy this instead of a gold wing.
@IanTedАй бұрын
It’s a heavy bike already with limited power, modern chains are easy to maintain and far more efficient than any shaft. Had three GSs and the shaft ruined the gear change.
@simonclare-fu7sxАй бұрын
the DCT in manual mode is brilliant when you want to push on in the bends, it's very surprising, like paddles on a sports car

Overall, an informative review and appreciated...but it would add a great deal if you were to show yourself sitting astride the bike at rest with observations on seat height and whether you are tippy toe or flat-footed. A loaded bike with pillion requires some confidence when stopped as well as at speed. Cheers

OK, but now new Africa Twin AS have 19" front wheel and the same seat height, but with 25L tank, so what's the point of buying NT really?
@allwheeldriveАй бұрын
It's clearly for those who do NOT go off road. I'd MUCH rather have this setup. Handles better on pavement, the overall form factor is better for long trips. Easy decision.

Glad to hear the DCT now provides smooth transition between gears…….by comparison, I rode a GSA1300 in auto mode last week and was shocked at how clunky the gear changes were ….really rocking me back and forwards as it changed cogs 😮

Being the owner of a 2024 nt1100 I can safely say the biggest pain in the ass is the snatchy throttle never owned a bike this bad .Then the screen works but adjustment is to stiff and you have to stop to do it and last is the stupid mass of switches on left bar . These all need sorting.why did I buy it well the engine is brilliant the sound and fuel economy is brilliant two up it's good and I got it in manual brand new for 11 grand and have no issues with the suspension out of the box .
@SanemancuredАй бұрын
It’s a shame that if you want the electronic suspension you need to go auto. That will lose sales methinks.
@GuuggelАй бұрын
Apparently 66% of sales are DCT already, so they won't probably lose any sales. It just seems a bit of a old mans bike anyway. Coincidentally my father just retired and is looking at this. His 2004 Goldwing is unnecessary bulky and heavy for solo trips.
@duncanorr5926Ай бұрын
Don't worry, you don't have to. I believe honda announced that initially but then after the grumblings of the buyers they added the option to purchase a manual bike with electronic suspension.
@jono492Ай бұрын

The reviewer is doing something horribly wrong if he has to worry about passengers bashing helmets etc., when manually shifting a bike. Also: "I don't know why someone would go for the manual option" Well, maybe when you use a clutch properly, there is great satisfaction and fun when making shifts without all the supposed drama they are the cause of lol. Why doesn't the entire world want only Apple Watches and digital quartz jobbies? Boy all those people who love the nasty analogue things with hands and moving parts and tiny beautiful gears, sure are missing out.

I don't want to sound like an RT snob, but the old NT looked awful, with terrible features such as the screen as you demonstrated. Well below what I'd expect from Honda. Was this the sorry excuse for a Pan European replacement? Come on Honda, pull yourself together. Let's have shaft-drive, 1300cc, electronic screen (and lowers for leg protection), heated seat and grips. BTW, snowflake, you go for manual because you're a MAN and it's an important part of riding a bike. If you find it fatiguing, get yourself a car.
@jonnybonny4193Ай бұрын
If you added all those features you mentioned they aren't going to be able to price it so low...

pretty sure Honda's are more reliable than BMWs. You're paying more for a BMW for the features (that many don't want or need) and a brand name.
