In stock form or with slight bolt-ons the s2k is undeniably the most reliable sports car ever made. It broke because you didn't upgrade the rear diff.

sdlausen it was a CV joint that broke actually. I wish they made and sold new s2000s still

@@grandtourisbros You and I both. I love my s2k! I wish I could upgrade to a gt350 like you haha!

what you just said makes no sense. They might be reliable but upgrade the rear differential. Explain more please,,
@sdlausen14 жыл бұрын
@@padraiggalvin2807 The rear diff was not designed to handle twice the amount of power. This is the case with most cars. He's running forced induction.

@@sdlausen1 but also, the rear diff never broke 😂. It was a CV joint, which you can’t really upgrade. Just saying.

Nice driving, great car, but the eastern part with the famous 48 hairpins should be done other way round - ascending to the top!
@grandtourisbros4 жыл бұрын
Well the car ascended to the top on top of a flatbed truck. Does that count? 🤣

It's all that shifting from 2nd to 1st at 25 miles an hour.. should have been from 3rd to 2nd
@padraiggalvin28074 жыл бұрын
No. car should be able for that if its a reliable
@grandtourisbros4 жыл бұрын
Possibly so although I revmatched the majority of those shifts. In 3rd, that car would’ve been constantly out of the powerband and would’ve been less enjoyable in the moment. Car was way out of the powerband while exiting corners in 2nd already. But if I could do it again, yeah I’d just use 2nd to mitigate wear. Not sure shifting in a straight line would’ve caused a broken CV joint though but I’m no certified mechanic.

Sweet water bottle action until the Spoiler Alert at 10:50. Yeah, unfortunately the AP1 is known for that, especially with forced induction. I've been pulling a trailer to the race track with mine, so... Hmmm... maybe I should buy a reinforced diff before mine goes.
@grandtourisbros6 жыл бұрын
SparkyS2K it wasn’t the diff actually. It was a CV joint this time. Nonetheless, a better diff is a great idea for track use. I’ve broken one on track and replaced it with another OEM one and it has lasted a long time afterwards.

Yes it is a great car. Sorry about your car but I would never let mine go. Good luck with whatever it is you get next. But I will say this be careful. Don't be like others that have sold there S2000. Just to turn around and buy another S2000 later. Happy trails and good luck.
