Excellent video still in 2024, thankyou. Wish I'd seen this before removing my exhaust at the manifold for a recent tyre replacement on my 2014!

Thanks for that, you've given me the confidence to attempt to change the pads on my SH

Sorry for being so negative but that’s one dirty scooter - why not take the opportunity to clean that whole area down while you have the calliper off and give the brake assembly a thorough clean with brake cleaner

Change rear pads on xmax250 much easier. What a faff removing exhaust. Love these scooters but a rear puncture wheel change is a horrible job. Lots of professionals say don’t use copper slip but lithium instead but I am 64 and only ever used any copper grease to hand and never had a problem after 47 bikes

Good video. I expected to see a rubber gaiter on the piston because as the pads wear and piston becomes exposed, without a gaiter its surface can become pitted with rust spots. I've not had mine out yet so I don't know if the SH300i has a piston gaiter.

Good vid, until you touched the disc with the same finger you greased the pins with! Nooo! Cardinal sin number one! Lol. After you've done, give everything a good clean with brake cleaner, just to be safe rather than sorry! Other than that, good effort mate.

I'm always willing to learn, I'm certainly not one of those bods that say " thoust should not do it that way", but correct me if I'm wrong, which I could be. I was always told never to use copper grease near rubber, and near the rubber gaiters on the slider pins. Probably better to use red rubber grease that won't degrade rubber. I'm a right or wrong. Humbly anticipate any corrections or confirmation if that's good advice. Excellent video. Thanks for the upload.

Yeah, but the boots are cheap and can be replaced. You are correct though, red rubber grease is the preferred lubricant (the "rubber" part gives it away 😉) Also, Copper/a Slip should be used on steel only, not aluminum, again, a technicality.
