Wow, I'm impressed. Someone took the time teaching you how to be a great mechanic and you continued to perfect your skills. I don't see anything in your skills to improve doing this project. There's not many I would trust to work on my bikes but I certainly would let you as I sit back with a cup of coffee. I have a 2006 1100 Shadow, low mileage, stock that is fun to ride. BUT I also love the 1999 Heritage and 2002 Road King. Nothing like keeping the older carb bikes running trouble free. Great job on the video too. Keep on doing great videos to help others learn how to be great mechanics.

Could you do a video of what to do to sync the carbs/ tune them after doing a bigger stage jet?
@boshtalk77243 жыл бұрын
Great video, but gotta say you're super lucky at 3:45 to just wiggle that carb back on those boots. Getting that back on can be 3 hours of a 3.5 hour job. If anyone (like me can't just slide those on) better than lubing up the boots with gun-oil is a heat gun. Position your carbs...heat each side up a bit....then wiggle them in.
@retrotechandelectronics3 жыл бұрын
I would never use heat, thats asking for an air leak down the road.

Hey brother great video but quick question after you installed the fuel line and you connected the line in the middle with the of crooked line adaptor what does that hose go to?

Used your videos to clean my carburetor So thank you! I had a question, what is that white tank you connected last. Mine seems to be thick gunky dark mustard colored inside but don’t know if I should flush it out and clean it or if that is normal ?
@retrotechandelectronics5 жыл бұрын
Thats part of the coolant system, maybe its time for a flush.

Great video! I have a 2004 Sabre 1100 and I am trying to figure out how to do a carb clean. Are the carbs on a 2004 sabre the same as the carbs on a 2002 sabre? Thanks.
@retrotechandelectronics5 жыл бұрын
I would think they would have little to no difference, consult with others on forums though.

They are not different. The only difference in any of the 1100 carbs (of any year) is the PAIR secondary air system being added in 2005. They are all part of the same series of vd mikuni carbs.

Hey, these videos on the Sabre carb clean have been invaluable to me. Thank you! I'm doing the kerosene soak as we speak. I have a quick question, was there a fuel filter screen on the petcock when you removed it? Unless it's still stuck in the tank, I don't see one on mine?
@retrotechandelectronics4 жыл бұрын
What we had is what you saw. Id encourage you to look online at the parts catalog as these items can change year to year. That said, a fuel filter in-line upstream is always an easy fix.
